Trudeau is wrong. Self-defence is a right.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed in an American radio interview that Canadians don’t have a right to use firearms for self-defence, blaming American rhetoric for making Canadians think they have rights he claims they don’t. While firearms ownership in Canada is not a legal right, self-defence is. Moreover, Canadians can use firearms to defend themselves. Criminal lawyer Sam Goldstein joins the show to fact check Trudeau.

$2.5 Billion Systemic Racism Lawsuit Targets Federal Government

Alleging decades of systematic racism, the class action lawsuit – filed in the Federal Court of Canada in December, 2021 – has grown from 12 initial claimants to over 1,100.

The case has been launched on behalf of all black federal employees having experienced discrimination and racism in their employment since 1970, and could cover 300,000 past and present workers.

Alongside the creation of a $2.5 billion compensation fund to address “the pain, suffering and financial losses of black workers” over the past 50 years, the legal suit asks for the creation of a Black Equity Commission charged with investigating the challenges faced by black workers.

Jan. 6 Committee Caught ‘Lying and Altering Evidence’

In a statement, the spokesperson confessed that “the Select Committee on Monday created and provided Representative Schiff a graphic to use during the business meeting quoting from a text message from ‘a lawmaker’ to Mr. Meadows. The graphic read, ‘On January 6, 2021, Vice President Mike Pence, as President of the Senate, should call out all electoral votes that he believes are unconstitutional as no electoral votes at all.’ In the graphic, the period at the end of that sentence was added inadvertently. The Select Committee is responsible for and regrets the error.”

With Inflation At Historic Highs, Biden Is Still Trying To Make It Worse

All he had to do was end the COVID-19 lockdowns and let the economy recover on its own. Instead, President Joe Biden spent trillions trying to “transform” the country, and now, everyone, especially the nation’s poorest, is paying the price for his hubris.

Political Violence Escalates in a Fracturing U.S.

After a week featuring a House hearing into the Capitol riot, the attempted assassination of a U.S. Supreme Court justice, the firebombing of an anti-abortion group, and the arrest of extremists apparently ready to rumble at a Pride Month event, it’s fair to say that political violence is now part of American life. With the right and left at each other’s throats, the U.S. resembles Italy in the 1970s when ideologically motivated clashes plunged the country into years of turmoil. Italy eventually got its problems (mostly) under control, but the U.S. might suffer less pain by decentralizing power and restraining the state’s reach so that people need not fear abuse when enemies win office.
