Despite ‘woman’ being a word that the vast majority of us understand, it’s still being rewritten to suit the opinion of a vocal minority
And… the lady vanishes. Not that we’re allowed to use the problematic word “lady” any more. You could probably get away with “lady who may or may not have prostate gland”.
I’m not joking. The Cambridge Dictionary has updated its definition of “woman” to include anyone who “identifies as female” regardless of their sex at birth. The online dictionary recently added a supplementary definition of a “woman” which includes transgender people.
Alongside the biologically-correct and time-honoured definition of “adult female human being”, a woman can now be “an adult who lives and identifies as female though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth”.
