A teenage boy who had been a nominated “carnival queen” has lost the title after a gender row.
The adolescent, known as James, had been crowned “queen” and was expected to lead the traditional Ringwood carnival parade in Hampshire next month.
This decision was shared by the carnival’s committee on Aug 6 to its Facebook page, in a post that has since been deleted.
