Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has chosen to set a time bomb ticking in relation to India. By accusing Indian agents of assassinating Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a pro-Khalistan Canadian named as a terrorist by India, Trudeau has picked appeasement politics over pragmatic foreign policy. The Canadian government has not submitted any clinching evidence to the Indian government, except to state that there were “credible allegations” (try beating this as an oxymoron!). India has described the allegations as “absurd”.
