Rising antisemitism in Canada sparks call for second national summit

OTTAWA — Rising antisemitism in Canada since the Oct. 7 Israel terror attacks has triggered a call to convene a second national antisemitism summit.

That call came via an open letter signed by 200 politicians, community and spiritual leaders, along with a motion that will be tabled in the Senate later this week.

Marvin Rotrand, a retired politician and interim director-general of United Against Hate Canada, said during Monday morning’s press conference that while a lot of good came out of Canada’s 2021 antisemitism summit, more needs to be done.

After reading this article I can’t shake the notion that those calling for this summit are hopelessly out of touch with the true nature of Islam.

They seem to think they can reason with the people who joyously slaughtered men, women and children Oct 7.

Don’t misunderstand me, I know they are well meaning and I wish them well. But this will not accomplish a thing.

It appears the Jewish community no longer has the support they used to.

Canada has been balkanized by mass immigration and the newcomers have their own tribal conflicts to keep them busy.
