Israel has dropped leaflets urging 100,000 residents of eastern Rafah to evacuate ahead of an expected military operation in the southern Gazan city.
“The IDF is about to operate with force against the terror organisation in the area you currently reside. Anyone in the area puts themselves and their family members in danger,” the IDF said in the leaflets.
There are currently 1.3 million Palestinians sheltering in Rafah, most of whom fled heavy bombing in the rest of the Gaza Strip for the relative safety of the only city that has not yet seen intense fighting.
