Toronto police are warning of a heightened police presence in the city this weekend as the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) prepares to hold its annual “Walk with Israel” event.
Police say they have received information that some protesters also plan to attend the event “intent on disrupting” it.
This is the 55th year that UJA is holding the “Walk with Israel” event in the city — a five-kilometre walk followed by a three-hour “solidarity festival.”
Pro Hamas gangs are planning to disrupt the Walk for Israel by blocking the Intersection of Bathurst and Sheppard Sunday 9:30 AM. Israel Now will mobilize at Sheppard Plaza on Sunday at 8:30 AM. https://t.co/hT6BEKLdUb pic.twitter.com/cIwB4cmsGi
