The man accused of shooting a Toronto police officer in the abdomen Wednesday night was out on bail at the time, the Star has learned.
A 21-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night and is expected to be in court Thursday in connection with the shooting on Lillian Street near Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue.
