Toronto police have released only a few new details on the Barry and Honey Sherman murder investigation despite an Ontario judge’s strong suggestion that “shaking the tree” might help solve the nearly eight-year old case.
Following a Toronto Star application for increased transparency, police on Monday agreed to unseal minor references to Sherman cousin Kerry Winter and Sherman’s friend and business associate Frank D’Angelo. The references are contained in more than 3,400 investigative pages police have filed in court. About 40 per cent of the documents are still under seal.
