Liberals are still planning to ban gas-powered cars

Although the Carney government may have dispensed with the wildly unpopular consumer carbon tax, Environment Minister Julie Dabrusin confirmed this week that they’re staying the course on an environmental policy that’s almost as controversial.

In the House of Commons on Monday, Dabrusin said there would be no changes to a Trudeau-era plan to ban the sale of gas-powered cars by 2035.

Canadian Military Surpassed 2025 Recruitment Goal, 55 Percent Increase Over Year Prior

Canada’s armed forces are ready for emergency pronoun deployment under battlefield conditions.

The number of regular force members grew by approximately 2,000 members from April 1 last year to March 31 this year when accounting for attrition, the department said. The CAF had 65,154 regular force members and 23,561 primary reserve members on April 30, and it anticipates reaching 71,500 regular force members and 30,000 primary reserve members by 2032.

… While intake has increased, the CAF has faced issues retaining the new members, according to a leaked military report obtained by CBC News and covered in May. The attrition rate of new members is double that of the rest of the force, with recruits expressing frustration about the lengthy wait prior to receiving training.

One the biggest complaints among departing recruits is the perceived misalignment of the organization’s focus on cultural change rather than on operational requirements, the report noted. It also said an office to focus on retention had been defunded.

Trump’s Unapologetic Defense of the Rule of Law

After a day and a half of rioting in Los Angeles County, President Donald Trump activated the National Guard to protect federal officers and property. The riots were triggered by ICE’s attempts on Friday, June 6, to arrest a few dozen illegal aliens.

The president’s mobilization order, signed on Saturday, June 7, was clarifying and precise: “To the extent that protests or acts of violence directly inhibit the execution of the laws, they constitute a form of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States.”

Mexico’s Gun Case Backfires

Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of seven American gun manufacturers that Mexico had charged with aiding illegal gun sales to drug cartels. In the aftermath, it has somehow escaped notice that the Obama administration did the same thing, with impunity.

On a visit to Mexico in April 2009, President Obama claimed that “more than 90 percent of the guns recovered in Mexico come from the United States, many from gun shops that line our shared border. So, we have responsibilities as well.” The administration then set out to prove this claim in covert fashion.

Visible minorities in the GTA increasingly supporting Conservatives: U of T study

Federal and provincial Conservatives are winning over more visible minority voters in the GTA, a new study has found.

According to researchers at the University of Toronto’s School of Cities, visible minorities in the GTA, who make up more than half of the population, are increasingly backing Conservative candidates in federal and provincial elections. The study, out Wednesday, considers anyone, besides Indigenous people, who are non-Caucasian in race or non-white in colour as a visible minority, as defined by Statistics Canada.

The findings are based on federal and Ontario election results over the past two decades, including the two most recent national and provincial elections earlier this year.

Trump Cannot Ignore the Latest Damning Evidence of Iran’s Pursuit of Nuclear Weapons

Amid concerns that US President Donald J. Trump is backtracking on his pledge to confront Iran over its controversial nuclear programme, new evidence pointing to Iran’s clandestine attempts to develop nuclear weapons should persuade the Trump administration to make the Iran threat one of its top priorities.

The latest evidence that Tehran has spent the past few decades developing nuclear weapons has come in the form of a bombshell report published by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN-sponsored body responsible for monitoring Iran’s nuclear activities.

LILLEY: F-35 audit shows incompetence at DND and across Ottawa

The report on the cost of the F-35 from the auditor general is more about incompetence than anything else. It’s also a worrying sign given that Prime Minister Mark Carney just pledged billions in new spending for the Canadian Armed Forces.

The headline from the audit is that the original cost projection to buy 88 F-35 fighter jets was $19 billion and now it’s $27.7 billion, a 46% increase.

Inside Diddy’s bizarre bisexual NBA roleplay

Diddy’s wildest sexual fantasy involved a twisted NBA roleplay – casting himself as Michael Jordan, his ex-girlfriend as Kobe Bryant and the male escort she regularly slept with as Shaquille O’Neal – the ex testified on day two of the fifth week in the disgraced rap mogul’s sex trafficking trial.

‘Jane’, who testified under a pseudonym, said the hip hop mogul’s obsession with ‘cuckold’ scenarios may have been a way to live out his bisexual fantasies without physically engaging with men – because he was ‘too ashamed’ to do so openly.

Jane described the ‘Freak Offs’ she attended during their relationship as filled with extravagant sexual roleplay where participants gave each other nicknames inspired by legendary basketball stars.

Sounds like he’ll like prison.
