Justin Bieber proclaims he’s ‘not among’ Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ victims as rap mogul faces sex-trafficking trial

Justin Bieber said he was never a victim of accused sex abuser Sean “Diddy” Combs, who helped the young singer break into the music industry when he was just 15 years old — ending his silence on the rumor amid the disgraced mogul’s bombshell sex trafficking trial.

“Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him. Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve,” reps for Bieber, 31, told TMZ in a statement Thursday night.

Amy Hamm: B.C. blows unknown tax dollars trying to lure anti-Trump nurses

B.C.’s New Democratic premier and minister of health think that they can solve the province’s nursing shortage by enticing U.S. nurses to cross the border. The idea is laughable.

This week, Premier David Eby and his minister, Josie Osborne, announced that they had streamlined licensing applications for U.S. nurses, and approved a whopping — wait for it — 113 nurses to practice in B.C. This was following an online campaign with unknown costs, as per a statement Osborne provided to media.

Trump’s Military Buildup at the Border Expands

In the past four months, the Pentagon has sent thousands of active-duty combat troops and armored Stryker combat vehicles to the southwestern border to confront what President Trump declared on his first day in office was an “invasion” of migrants, drug cartels and smugglers.

That’s not all. The military has also dispatched U-2 spy planes, surveillance drones, helicopters and even two Navy warships to surveil the borders and coasts round the clock.

The buildup of forces underscores how Mr. Trump is breaking with his predecessors’ practice of mostly limiting deployments along the U.S.-Mexico border to small numbers of active-duty soldiers and reservists. About 2,500 active-duty troops were on the border at the end of the Biden administration. Now there are about 8,600.

It’s working so naturally the NYTimes is upset.

John Ivison: After just one day, Carney’s cabinet already looks out of control

There have been concerns about the “presidentialization” of the Canadian prime ministership for years — worries that have been exacerbated by Mark Carney’s tendency to sign Trump-style legislative orders to grant tax cuts.

Academics have suggested that the cabinet has become nothing more than a focus group for the prime minister, who instead of being primus inter pares (first among equals) is now merely primus .

On the evidence of the new cabinet’s first day in office, that may be no bad thing.

Texas mother accused of helping son plan school shooting

Mom of Year

A Texas mother has been arrested for allegedly buying ammunition and tactical gear for her son who she knew was planning “mass targeted violence” at his school, officials said.

Prosecutors say Ashley Pardo, 33, was aware of her son’s obsession with violence, and “intentionally and knowingly aided” his violent goals in exchange for him babysitting his younger siblings.

On Monday, the student showed up to Jeremiah Rhodes Middle School in San Antonio “wearing a mask, camouflage jacket and tactical pants but left shortly after”, police said. He was later detained off-campus.

Hamas Celebrates Shooting That Killed Israeli Mother en Route to Deliver Baby

An Israeli woman on the way to a hospital to give birth was shot and killed in the West Bank on Wednesday, in an attack that Hamas applauded as a “heroic act.”

The baby boy survived after being delivered in an emergency cesarean section, Israeli health officials said, and remained in “serious but stable” condition. No Palestinian militant group took responsibility for the attack, but a Hamas spokesman praised the shooting in a statement.

Trump officials suggest ex-FBI director’s social media post was call for violence against Trump

Comey – Evil man

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Thursday that federal law enforcement is investigating a social media post made by former FBI Director James Comey that she and other Republicans suggest is a call for violence against U.S. President Donald Trump.

In an Instagram post, Comey wrote “cool shell formation on my beach walk” under a picture of seashells that appeared to form the shapes for “86 47.”

Sorry CBC but a great many more than “Trump Officials” agree it was a call to violence by a demented Comey.

Iran using criminal gangs for hit jobs abroad, court papers show

There has been a sharp rise in plots by the Iranian regime to kidnap or assassinate dissidents, journalists and political foes living abroad, according to reports by Western intelligence agencies.

These attempts have escalated dramatically since 2022, with even US President Donald Trump among the alleged targets. In the UK, police are questioning a number of Iranians arrested earlier this month on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack. The BBC understands the alleged target was the Israeli embassy in London.

And court documents from Turkey and the US – seen by BBC Eye Investigations and BBC Persian – contain evidence that Iran has been hiring criminal gangs to carry out killings on foreign soil, allegations the Iranian regime has previously denied. Iranian officials did not respond to a fresh request for a comment.

Woe Canada, Ontario claims to stand on guard for thee.

“When all of Canada wins, Ontario wins,” Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy said Thursday in a boosterish speech that noted “it is amazing to witness the burst of patriotism across our province and our great country” in the face of Trump’s tariffs.

Tens of thousands of federal public service jobs should be eliminated, think tank says

OTTAWA – Prime Minister Mark Carney should “take a page from the Chrétien government’s 1994 program review” and cut tens of thousands of bureaucrat jobs, argued the Montreal Economic Institute (MEI) in a new paper published on Thursday.

The economic think tank found that a program review like the one from 30 years ago would result in the elimination of about 64,000 federal government jobs. This would lead to a return to the pre-Justin Trudeau government per capita size of the bureaucracy and a permanent reduction in public spending of nearly $10 billion a year by 2029, MEI experts say.

COLEMAN: Canada remains in neutral while the world moves at warp speed

The world is hurtling forward but under Prime Minister Mark Carney’s ‘new’ Liberal government, Canada seems stuck in neutral. Listening to CBC’s fawning coverage of Carney’s cabinet shuffle, I was struck not by the predictable nods to gender and regional quotas, but by the breathtaking arrogance of keeping some of the Liberal Party’s most incompetent figures in power.

This shuffle signals more of the same from a party that’s governed with platitudes and failures for a decade.
