GOLDSTEIN: Carney, like Trudeau, thinks big deficits are the answer to tough times

The truth is we were headed into tough economic times regardless of who won the April 28 election.

A major reason – which Prime Minister Mark Carney noted prior to the vote – was the polices of his predecessor, Justin Trudeau, whose decade-long government presided over the worst record of economic growth in Canada since the Great Depression.

With That Development, the Dems’ Insurrection at the NJ ICE Detention Center Looks Even Worse

I don’t make the rules here, folks. These are narratives and conventions made up by Democrats, so it’s even more satisfying when they inevitably break them since these awful people have no principles or moral core. Yesterday, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and other Democrats tried to lead an insurrection at Delaney Detention Hall, a facility housing illegal aliens, in Newark, New Jersey. The footage is wild

Separation or Collapse: Which Comes First?

The province of Alberta has a legitimate grievance with the ROC (Rest of Canada).

According to the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, since the inception of Canada’s equalization program in 1957, which sees the wealthier provinces subsidizing their less fortunate counterparts, Alberta has made a net contribution of $67 billion, $2.9 billion alone in 2021 — which in turn represents only a portion of the province’s immense financial contribution to federal coffers and the governments and residents of other provinces.

Pierre Poilievre said no to Joe Rogan. That’s left some bruised feelings

Right-wing podcasting heavyweight Joe Rogan isn’t the first non-traditional media figure to claim they’ve been snubbed by Pierre Poilievre, although he might be the biggest.

Speaking on his podcast Tuesday — a long-form interview show to which almost 20 million users subscribe on YouTube alone — Rogan pivoted from talking about the Canadian election results to mentioning that “that Pierre guy” wouldn’t appear on the show because he, at least in Rogan’s telling, thought it was “too problematic.”

Inside Britain’s most segregated city: Nearly half the adults speak little or no English, women eat behind curtains & religious warfare threatens to break out

His kofia, the flat cylindrical hat favoured by Somali Muslims, gleams white as he picks me up at the station. A flowing kameez tunic gathers in his lap beneath the steering wheel.

‘Welcome to Leicester, sharif [Sir]!’ says ‘Ahmed’ with a grin.
Originally from Somalia, Ahmed – he doesn’t want me to use his real name – is a publisher, amateur historian and part-time imam. He will be my guide to the city.

‘Are you a meat person?’ he asks. ‘Let’s go eat.’

States Are Using This Absurd Metric to Hand Out Aid Based on Race

In 2021, states had to choose how to distribute a scarce number of Covid-19 vaccines. One approach was to do so based on individuals’ risk of death from the virus. Another was to do so geographically, based on “equity.” More than two dozen states did this, using something called the Social Vulnerability Index (SVI)—a race-based formula created by the federal government.

The index, originating with the Centers for Disease Control in 2011, supposedly measures each county’s likelihood of suffering adverse consequences from natural disasters or other emergencies. In theory, the SVI allows relief workers effectively to triage scarce resources. In practice, it enables federal agencies and state governments to justify denying aid to neighborhoods because of race.

Shoppers Drug Mart billed almost $62 million to the provincial government for medication reviews over a 14-month period, data obtained by the Star shows, raising concerns the pharmacy chain is abusing the Ontario Drug Benefit program and providing little benefit to patients.

The reviews, performed through the MedsCheck program, are provincially funded consultations between pharmacists and patients intended to make sure doses are being followed and patient concerns are being addressed.

Iranian Regime’s Trojan Horse “Civilian Use” Lie on Nuclear Weapons

For more than two decades, the Iranian regime has played a dangerous and calculated game of deception with the West by skillfully masking its nuclear ambitions under the pretense of “civilian use.” This is not a new tactic — it’s a time-tested playbook used by rogue regimes to buy time, mislead international watchdogs, and continue marching in the shadows toward nuclear weapons and the missiles to them.

Tehran has manipulated global diplomacy by leveraging Western naivety and its obsession with appeasement and the search for “peace” to keep all the core elements of its nuclear program intact.

Pope Leo XIV lays out his vision and identifies AI as a main challenge for humanity

Pardon my sacrilege.

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Leo XIV laid out the vision of his papacy Saturday, identifying artificial intelligence as one of the most critical matters facing humanity and vowing to continue with some of the core priorities of Pope Francis.

But in a sign he was making the papacy very much his own, Leo made his first outing since his election to a sanctuary south of Rome that is dedicated to the Madonna and is of particular significance to his Augustinian order and his namesake, Pope Leo XIII.

Celebrities: Trump Will Destroy the World!

The era of the movie star ended some time ago, assuming your last name isn’t Cruise.

More recently, Americans began tuning out their celebrity betters on the political front.

The 2024 election saw a galaxy of stars support Vice President Kamala Harris. For every Trump-backing Zachary Levi or Hulk Hogan there were dozens of A-listers backing a leader who feared talking to Joe Rogan.
