Report: Rising Islamist and Antisemitic Attitudes Among Young Muslims in Germany

Islam does not belong in Germany

Concern has increased about radicalization among Muslims in Germany—particularly within the younger generation—following the publication of research funded by three federal ministries.

The MOTRA network—which has been monitoring extremism and radicalization processes since 2019—released its 2024/2025 monitor, which spans nearly 600 pages. The report indicates that younger Muslims appear more susceptible to Islamist and antisemitic attitudes than older generations.

Just over half of Americans say they don’t want tariffs on Canada: poll

As U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade war against Canada stretches into its second year, more than half of Americans said in an Angus Reid survey that they don’t want any tariffs on Canada, with the majority viewing their northern neighbour positively.

With the Canada-U.S.-Mexico (CUSMA) free trade agreement up for renegotiation this year, 51 per cent of U.S. respondents told the survey that if they had their way, there would be no tariffs on Canada at all.

It was a less grandiose affair when President Trump declared victory over Iran in his first press conference since launching the joint US-Israeli attacks on February 28. In a ballroom at his golf resort in Florida, he spoke conversationally, but to similar effect.

Last week, CTV News published an article with a headline harm reduction activists across the country pounced on: “Drug overdoses in Toronto up nearly 50 per cent since last January, city data shows.”

The party to blame in their view, of course, is the Ontario government because it closed injection sites within 250 metres of schools and daycares a year ago. But if you look at the data the story was based on, the activists’ I-told-you-so’s are wildly off the mark.

It’s the country of Magna Carta and the great English liberties. It gave us the Mother of Parliaments and established the largest and most benign empire the world has ever seen. It held out alone against the Nazis, under an inspiring leader who vowed that “we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.” And after the war it became America’s partner in a Special Relationship that ultimately brought down the Soviet Union.

But now? To quote John of Gaunt’s speech in Richard II, “That England that was wont to conquer others / Hath made a shameful conquest of itself.”

Is John Cleese turning… based?

Anyone who has stumbled on John Cleese’s X feed lately will have been in for a bit of a surprise. Where most A-listers use social media to witter on about ‘trans kids’, ICE or the latest cause célèbre, the Monty Python star has blazed an altogether different trail. Broadcasting to his 4.9million followers on X, Cleese has slammed Islamic sectarianism, blasted woke censorship and even quote tweeted a recent piece from spiked. Whisper it, but could Cleese be the ‘based’ national treasure Britain needs right now?
