Russia builds ‘Stalin centres’ to restore reputation of dictator

“Stalin centres” are popping up across Russia as Vladimir Putin tries to rehabilitate the reputation of the Soviet dictator.

The centres are being built in Russia’s biggest cities to reposition Joseph Stalin as “a great man of history” and boost support for Putin’s war in Ukraine.

In mid-December, at the opening of Russia’s second Stalin Centre in the city of Barnaul in Altai, Sergei Matasov, the regional Communist Party leader, credited Stalin with modernising the world during his 1924-53 rule over the Soviet Union.

George Soros’ Southampton estate ‘swatted’ in latest fake 911 call

George Soros’ posh Southampton estate was swatted over the weekend as the lefty-leaning billionaire became the latest high-profile victim of the 911 pranks.

Southampton police said they received the 911 call shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, with the caller telling cops he had just shot his wife at the ritzy South Shore manse and was threatening to shoot himself — sending officers rushing to the scene.

How tensions between Russia and the West are mounting in the Arctic

Down by the harbour in Longyearbyen, the crew of the Polargirl prepared for the day’s voyage, a round trip across the fjord to the Russian coal-mining settlement of Barentsburg on Norway’s Svalbard archipelago.

One would-be traveller, her suitcase set down in the snow, explained that she planned to spend the night in Barentsburg and return the next day before Masha, the Russian guide, shook her head sadly.

The Red Cross is an utter, hypocritical failure

In Toronto, they hid behind locked doors when we came. Hard to beleive they wrote the Geneva Conventions.

Mirjana Spoljaric suggested that Israel must negotiate with Hamas to arrange Red Cross (ICRC) access to the hostages. “Israel must work out with Hamas our lack of access to hostages,” she has the gall to say. Clearly the ICRC learned nothing from their disgraceful response to the Holocaust, because this would be like a statement that the Nazis and the Jews should discuss how the Red Cross should respond to the concentration camps.

We can recognize evil when we see it, can the ICRC not recognize evil? Have they learned nothing from their mistakes?

Lawn signs for Ezra Levant book were illegal election ads, judge rules

Canada’s ban on election advertising by unregistered third parties does not violate the Charter right to free expression, a judge has found.

Federal Court Justice Cecily Strickland ruled against a case brought by Rebel News founder Ezra Levant, who was fined for lawn signs promoting his book, titled The Libranos: What the media won’t tell you about Justin Trudeau’s corruption, during the 2019 federal election. The capital S in Libranos was styled as a dollar sign, and Liberal ministers were shown in a play on the mobster drama The Sopranos. It did not include disclosure of who paid for them, which is legally required for election ads.

A pro-Palestine mob has created a New Years Day nightmare as they have blockaded the JFK airport and surrounding roads, causing a gridlock for travelers.

Gute Nacht, Europe. Guten Morgen, Eurabia

1000 migrants enter Germany every day, And a Bundestag member admitted their culture does not disappear when they cross the border.

Jens Spahn is one of the leaders of the German CDU, a long-time member of the Bundestag (since 2002), former state secretary (2015 to 2018) and former minister (2018 to 2021) under Angela Merkel.

“There will be a risk of a ‘terrible awakening'”, Spahn said in the most dramatic speech by a political leader of the German establishment. The “country could tip over,” Spahn says. “It is above all the cultural area influenced by Islam in which hatred of Jews, incitement against gays, non-equality between men and women are too often part of everyday culture. There are not many Muslim majority countries where people of other faiths have an easy life. Or (where) women have equal rights or gays and lesbians somehow enjoy minority protection. So they just don’t exist. And that also has to do with the culture”.

Worst century ever

My second favorite Jimmy Buffett song is his tribute to Tierra Del Feugo: Party at the End of the World. The verse relevant to this post is

In case you hadn’t heard, things are getting quite absurd
No one really shocks us that’s for sure
Roadside bombers and tsunamis. Oh God, how I miss those Commies
No one seems to play fair anymore

Heroes and Zeroes of 2023

Musk, who fights the woke, and Biden, who defends them, are each in good company.

The year 2023 was a dark year geopolitically, plagued by an increase in wars, depravity, depression, border invasions, and racial-religious hatred. Democratic misleaders howled about safeguarding democracy while turning the Constitution on its head, and law enforcement into their private Stasi against ideological opponents, such as an ex-president, his supporters, and Christian conservatives. Yet amidst this dystopian utopia, the counterculture gained strength, led by wise warriors able to be heard and read despite calls for their cancellation, thanks to one of them. Below I cite him plus four more, and five big losers they damaged.

Israel to withdraw some troops from Gaza amid new campaign planning

Israel is withdrawing some troops from Gaza but preparing for an intense campaign to continue there for “six months at least” as well as expanding preparations for a Lebanon war, a senior official has said.

There is growing international pressure to curb an offensive that has so far killed nearly 22,000 Palestinians in Gaza, most of them women and children. Even Israel’s staunchest ally, the US, which rejects calls for a ceasefire, has started pushing the government to scale back the ferocity of its attacks.

Hamas in London

The pro-Hamas protests in London are not, apparently, as organic and spontaneous as their organizers would like them to seem.

At least four groups with links to Hamas are reportedly behind several of the marches: The Muslim Association of Britain (MAB), the Palestinian Forum for Britain, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, and the Friends of al-Aqsa. The same groups were behind the largest protest so far, on November 11 in London, where it is estimated that around 300,000 people participated.

Supporting Hamas, a proscribed terrorist organization in the UK, could lead to up to 14 years in prison.
