Ottawa looking at including used cars in federal electric vehicle incentive, report says

A government report suggests federal incentives for used electric vehicles could be in the works as Ottawa pushes to phase out gas-powered cars.

Canada’s latest emissions reduction progress report says the federal government will “explore the potential to expand the Incentives for Zero Emission Vehicles (iZEV) program to include used vehicles.” But the three lines in the report don’t offer much detail.

Neither Transport Minister Pablo Rodriguez’s office nor the office of Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault would say whether discussions are underway to expand the incentive program.

Fentanyl super labs in Canada pose new threat for U.S. opioid epidemic

At a rural property an hour outside Vancouver in October, Canadian police found 2.5 million doses of fentanyl and 528 gallons of chemicals in a shipping container and a storage unit. Six months earlier, they raided a home in a cookie-cutter Vancouver subdivision packed with barrels of fentanyl-making chemicals, glassware and lab equipment.

Thousands of miles away outside Toronto, police in August found what is believed to be the largest fentanyl lab so far in Canada — hidden at a property 30 miles from the U.S. border crossing at Niagara Falls, N.Y.

Over 200 Americans move TO Israel since Hamas barbaric attack launched a war and wave of antisemitism

More than 200 Americans have moved to Israel since the barbaric Hamas attack on Israel on October 7.

Aaron Gold, 26, was visiting friends in Israel when the war broke out. After returning to his home in Philadelphia he felt a strong desire to return to the Holy Land despite the ongoing war.

‘Hezbollah could attack now, they could attack in six months, they could attack in six years,’ he told The Times of Israel. ‘You can’t plan it.’

I have read where many more are expected to leave Europe where the situation is much more dangerous.

Guilbeault wants to ban gas-powered car sales by 2035. Is that even possible?

Right now, roughly one-in-10 new cars driving off the lot are electric or plug-in hybrid. By 2035, the government has declared that number needs to be … all of them.

As far as goals go, you can’t fault the ambition, but is it even feasible?

And, if there are enough cars to go around, will Canadians be able to charge this massive new convoy of electric vehicles?

It depends on who you ask, but skeptics abound in both the automotive and energy sectors.

Immigration Department Researching Whether ‘Climate Refugees’ Will Flee to Canada

The Department of Immigration is conducting research on whether people fleeing the effects of climate change will attempt to enter Canada, as the law does not currently recognize “climate considerations” as grounds to claim refugee status.

“Canada is investing in projects that aim to strengthen data and evidence related to climate mobility in order to deepen our understanding of who is on the move and people’s considerations in deciding whether to move,” Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada wrote to the Senate National Finance Committee, according to Blacklock’s Reporter.

I guess word was sent to make more bogus reasons to keep the mass immigration scam going.

An Actual War on Drugs?

On using military force against Mexican cartels

Nearly every Republican presidential candidate is now calling for direct military action against Mexican-based drug traffickers.

For a long time, Americans have seen drugs as a law-enforcement, not a military, problem. And even with military problems such as terrorism, America’s general preference is to enlist the help of local governments, militias, or political factions to do the fighting. This has been our tack with the Mexican government for years now.

How Donald Trump paralysed liberal America

It is one minute to midnight for American liberals. For them, the stakes in the 2024 presidential election are no less than the survival of democracy. The Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling last week that Donald Trump is ineligible to run for the presidency because he supported an insurrection is very unlikely to stand, but it reflects the view of millions of Americans that the threat posed by the former president is both monstrous and unprecedented. Are they right?

‘If We Like, We Will Kill You, Too’: The Persecution of Christians, November 2023

The Muslim Slaughter of Christians

Pakistan: A Muslim man murdered a young Christian because he was “driven by a strong hatred for Christians and Jews.” On Nov. 9, around 3 a.m., Muhammad Zubair broke into a Christian household while everyone was asleep. After opening fire on Farhan Qamar, 20, the youngest of four siblings, the intruder held the entire family hostage at gunpoint for nearly 40 minutes, preventing them from going near the fatally injured youth. According to the slain man’s father, Ul Qamar …

The year of the drone — how the hi-tech weapon has transformed warfare

At year’s end, lexicographers like to discuss the “word of the year”. Military lexicographers have no doubt that this year’s word is “drones”. And like all fashionable words, it means several different things. But there is no argument that the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza have got war colleges everywhere scratching their heads over what it will mean for the future.
