Canadian journalism survey finds senior leadership roles still overwhelmingly filled by white men say racist cranks at Toronto Star

Across the country, the top editors in newsrooms continue to disproportionately skew white and male, a new Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) survey has found.

The survey covers 6,035 journalists across 273 newsrooms across the country, with data submitted voluntarily by newsroom staff.

Journalists across the country, according to the survey results, are overwhelmingly white, making up 76 per cent of newsrooms. That number increases for more senior positions — newsroom supervisors are 84 per cent white and majority male.

This is the paper that employs Official Racist Cranks like Shree Paradkar who has never found a thing she couldn’t blame on white people.

The veteran leader of the hard-Right PVV was on Tuesday predicted to win 28 seats, enough to potentially make him prime minister in a country where nearly one million people, more than five per cent of the population, are Muslims.

Why are our schools addicted to foreign student tuition? Because government was the pusher

If you want to understand why the number of visa students at Canada’s universities and colleges – particularly in Ontario, and particularly at colleges – has risen so sharply in recent years, follow the money.

One trail leads to an unexpected place: my car.

In the spring of 2022, Ontario sent me a cheque for $440. The Ford government had just made it free to renew your vehicle registration – it used to cost $120 a year – and the move was retroactive to 2020. I had paid my fees in advance to the end of 2023, so I was refunded back to the start of the decade.

Hungary Surveys Voters on EU and Ukraine

“Let’s not dance to the tune they whistle!”

The survey’s billboard campaign has prompted baseless accusations of antisemitism from globalist politicians and the left-liberal press.

The Hungarian government has launched a nationwide survey on key topics related to national sovereignty, including EU migration policy, issues related to Ukraine, and foreign influence on Hungarian politics. The survey accompanies a new antiglobalist, EU-skeptical billboard campaign for next June’s European parliamentary elections.

Journalism programs across Canada face low enrolment, schools hit pause

Brazilian international student Fernando Bossoes came to Canada to study journalism. Now in his second year at Humber College’s Bachelor of Journalism program, he chose the Toronto polytechnic partly because the journalism programs offered back home were too “old school” for his liking.

But just a few months after Bossoes began his studies, Humber announced that it would be pausing new admissions to the program in 2023. And while his cohort started with seven students, that number has dwindled to four — including an exchange student who will be leaving next year, he said — after several people dropped out.

Canadian Human Rights Commission Report Says Christmas a ‘Discriminatory’ Holiday

The report says Canada’s ‘identity as a settler colonial state’ is a chief reason for its ‘religious intolerance.’

A new report from Canada’s human rights watchdog says Christmas is a discriminatory holiday rooted in “colonialism.”

The Oct. 23 report from the Canadian Human Rights Commission called Canada’s celebration of Jesus’s birth “an obvious example” of “systemic religious discrimination.”

“Statutory holidays related to Christianity including Christmas and Easter are the only Canadian statutory holidays linked to religious holy days,” says the report titled “Discussion Paper On Religious Intolerance.”

Indigenous curator’s departure from AGO underscores tensions over Israel-Hamas war at art institutions

The Art Gallery of Ontario’s Indigenous curator Wanda Nanibush left her job last week in what the institution calls a mutual decision, following years of outspokenness that caused friction with some at the gallery and in the arts community – which came to a head with the Israel-Hamas war.

She has publicly supported Palestinian causes both recently – including in a since-deleted social-media post viewed by The Globe and Mail – and in the past, including in a 2016 feature for Canadian Art magazine. In that story, she linked the experience of Indigenous peoples living in Canada to that of Palestinians. “Colonization marks a before and after where identity is radically altered by loss,” she wrote.

Biden’s DOJ Tormented These Four J6 Protesters To Death

Last week, newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson publicly released 90 hours of Jan. 6, 2021, security footage featuring protesters peacefully walking through the Capitol, often with the encouragement or indifference of Capitol Police officers.

The footage further delegitimizes the Biden administration, corporate media, and Jan. 6 Committee’s insistence that the 2021 Capitol protest was on par with Pearl Harbor and 9/11. It also exonerates countless peaceful protesters who have been slandered by the media and J6 Committee, harassed by Biden’s Department of Justice, and held in solitary confinement without due process.

How Hamas Nazis Became an Environmentalist and Gun Control Cause

From Queers for Palestine to marchers carrying signs reading, “Palestine is a Reproductive Justice Issue”, the Hamas Nazi cause has been vertically integrated throughout the Left. Greta Thunberg was booed after injecting anti-Israel chants into environmental rallies. The BLM movement was a longtime foe of Israel, but Asian Studies departments recently joined in.

Will Israel hand America a ceasefire?

Having choreographed their October 7 assault so skilfully, Hamas clearly had no plans at all for the Israeli counter-offensive. Nor did it plan for the inevitable cutting-off of Gaza’s electricity and water supplied by Israel, or consider the people who close to known Hamas facilities that were bound to be bombed. It didn’t even prepare its own fighters, whose anti-tank missiles were no match for the revolutionary “Trophy” active defence of Israel’s Merkava tanks and huge Namer infantry combat carriers.

‘Brothel capital of Europe’ considers ban on buying sex

Calls are growing in Germany for an outright ban on prostitution amid warnings that the country has become “the brothel of Europe”, attracting sex tourists from around the world.

The conservative opposition CDU party said that the legalisation of the sex industry in 2002 under a previous centre-left government had failed because it was largely ignored in practice. It gave prostitutes employment rights, access to welfare benefits and the right to sue non-paying clients.

Why Osama bin Laden is taking TikTok by storm

Harry Styles, Greta Thunberg, Osama bin Laden. The pin-ups of Generation Z might mystify us. But it’s important we pay attention to them – certainly to the latter, most recent entry into this rogues’ gallery.

Over the past week, the late al-Qaeda leader has been causing a stir on TikTok. Bin Laden’s ‘Letter to America’ – an anti-Western, anti-Semitic screed, penned a year after 9/11 to ‘justify’ al-Qaeda’s slaughter of innocent New Yorkers and its holy war against the West – has been blowing influencers’ minds.

Fentanyl is changing the world of warfare

US wants China to stop exporting ingredients while Iran and Russia look to weaponise the drug

There is a suspicion in the United States that China has been mounting a revenge attack for the humiliating western-led 19th-century Opium Wars. How else to explain the fact that Beijing’s all-seeing state has allowed Chinese companies to export the ingredients for the high-powered synthetic drug fentanyl that is killing young Americans?

About 70,000 died of fentanyl overdose last year; it is regarded as 50 times as potent as heroin with the pills easily smuggled into the US via the Mexican cartels.
