Rashida Tlaib’s Lies Skipped by ‘Independent Fact Checkers’

On November 8, the House of Representatives (212 Republicans and 22 Democrats) voted to censure radical Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) because she has “levied unbelievable falsehoods about our greatest ally, Israel, and the attack on October 7.”

One of those outrageous falsehoods was clinging to the false claim that Israel bombed the al-Ahli hospital in Gaza. But guess what? Our professional “fact checkers” haven’t located that lie…or any other nutty utterance, like her laughable claim that “from the river to the sea” isn’t a Hamas slogan about the eradication of Israel, it’s an “aspirational call for freedom” and “peaceful coexistence.”

Lithium mining in Africa reveals dark side of green energy

At a Chinese-run lithium mine in Namibia, local workers have complained for months about squalid living conditions and unsafe work practices.

An August fact-finding mission by the Mineworkers Union of Namibia into the Uis mine — which is operated by Chinese mining company Xinfeng Investments — found that the mine’s local employees live in tiny, hot shacks made of corrugated zinc and without proper ventilation.

The union also faulted a lack of privacy in the sanitation blocks, where toilets and showers are lined up without partitions between them. By contrast, the mine’s Chinese workers have comfortable air-conditioned rooms and decent bathrooms.

Urgently Needed: An Economic and National Security ‘War Cabinet’

Voters in a small Michigan township ousted their entire township board over the board’s support for building a Michigan-taxpayer subsidized, Chinese battery manufacturing plant in their midst. History might not remember them as among the first Americans to take a stand against the creeping Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence growing in the United States, but their vote should serve as a historic and valiant wake-up call for all Americans and their leaders.

How then should their leaders respond to the valid concerns over the threat posed by the CCP’s efforts in America?

Fixed

After a birthday dinner with his parents and son that reminded him of how lucky he is to be surrounded by people who love him, Ryan Merovitz was entering his driveway when his headlights illuminated something that shattered that feeling.

“Dad, there’s something written on the garage door,” his 18-year-old, Mathew, called out from the back seat.

Colby Cosh: Sweden dispenses with the Canada model of immigration

Apologies for writing yet another “Look what’s happening in ultra-liberal, super-tolerant (Nordic country)” column, but there is turmoil in ultra-liberal, super-tolerant Sweden right now that’s worth noticing in Canada. About a year ago, Sweden elected a right-wing government that campaigned on altering the country’s gapingly open immigration policy, which in the past has been partly inspired by the Canadian model.

Breonna Taylor: Jury deadlocks over ex-officer Brett Hankison’s fate

The federal trial of an ex-police officer accused of violating Breonna Taylor’s civil rights has ended in a mistrial with a deadlocked jury.

It marks the second time Brett Hankison has avoided a conviction relating to the case, after he was found not guilty on state charges last year.

Ms Taylor was killed in a botched police raid in Louisville, Kentucky, on 13 March 2020.

Her name became a rallying cry at racial justice protests nationwide.

It was not immediately clear whether prosecutors would seek a re-trial.
