Israel’s plight exposes the truth about virtue signalling ‘values’

Suella Braverman, the Home Secretary, recently took a pop at immigrants who she accused of failing to ‘embrace British values’. But these newcomers to our shores might be forgiven for being confused about what these ‘values’ are. We live in a country, after all, in which misgendering someone can land you in hot water but chanting for ‘jihad’ on the streets of London is deemed acceptable. Britain is a place where we frequently express solidarity with victims of terror attacks and atrocities yet stay strangely silent on the plight of Israel after the slaughter of hundreds of its citizens.

Liberals shut down meeting to question RCMP commissioner on SNC-Lavalin probe

OTTAWA — In an unexpected move, the Liberals shut down a parliamentary committee that was about to hear from top RCMP officials on why it did not pursue a criminal investigation into Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s actions in relation to the SNC-Lavalin affair.

The European Union Rewards Terrorism

Israel had not even buried its dead from the horrifying jihadist pogrom that Hamas terrorists unleashed on Israeli civilians in south Israel — beheading babies, burning them alive, torturing, raping, kidnapping, murdering — before the European Union decided to reward the terrorists by tripling its assistance to Gaza.

“The Commission will immediately increase the current humanitarian aid envelope foreseen for Gaza by 50 million euros,” European Commission President Ursula van der Leyen said. “This will bring the total to over 75 million euros. We will continue our close cooperation with the UN and its agencies to ensure that this aid reaches those in need in the Gaza strip.”

The Tesla killer? Toyota’s EV breakthrough will allow cars to travel 745 miles on a single 10 minute charge

Toyota has said it is close to being able to mass manufacture potentially revolutionary solid-state batteries that could offer double the range of existing electric cars.

According to Toyota, cars powered by solid-state batteries could have a range of 745 miles, a charging time of 10 minutes and hit the market in 2027 or 2028.

They have been presented by experts as a revolutionary technology that could bring EVs into the mainstream.

We’ll see. But those are game changing numbers.

Is There a Hamas Network in America?

Hamas backers “have long operated in the United States” and they “are still engaged in various forms of support” for the organization, a new academic report claims.

The Program on Extremism at George Washington University (GWU) released an account of Hamas’ presence in the U.S. on October 13, which said that while many of its domestic activities have been foiled, networks and individuals remain in America providing “at times purely political and not material” backing for the group.

Liberals moving ahead on assault-style gun ban with legislation, regulation: LeBlanc

OTTAWA – The Liberal government is moving ahead with efforts to keep assault-style firearms out of the hands of Canadians, Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc said Monday.

LeBlanc, who assumed the portfolio over the summer, told a Senate committee the government will enact regulations to complement gun-control legislation being studied by members of the upper chamber.

The government bill includes a ban on assault-style firearms that would apply once the legislation comes into force.

Investigation: The Hamas attack on an Israeli kibbutz, and how residents fought back

Dawn was flaring over Gaza as two men in Hamas garb rode south along Sofa Street on a motorbike.

The sky was clear. The road was empty. It was 6:40 a.m. They were on their way to kill Israelis.

They didn’t have far to go.

It was less than three kilometres to Sufa, the Israeli town they were attacking — one of 30 targeted that day.

John Ivison: The Liberals are divided on Israel and completely adrift on foreign policy

One Liberal MP said the antisemitism Canada is experiencing is “frustrating and shocking.” His comments were primarily directed at the street protests against Jewish businesses — but they were not limited to them. He was also speaking about his own caucus.

It is a grim irony that Justin Trudeau, who was once privately referred to as “Canada’s first NDP prime minister” by one of his own MPs, is watching the hijacking of policy by a group of MPs who are more left-wing than he is.

Markham Cancelled Drag Queen Mural Upsetting CBC’s Groomer Pals

The City of Markham’s sudden, last-minute cancellation of a piece of public artwork one year in the making has the artist — and his subject — concerned about censorship.

In early September, Vancouver-based artist Julian Yi-Zhong Hou was scheduled to install a piece called “Bicycle” on the exterior of the Pan Am Centre sports complex in downtown Markham for a five-month period.

The printed vinyl banner, which measures 127 feet by 30 feet, features a person in drag and was to be unveiled at an event featuring local drag queens, artists and other performers. Then — one day before the installation and over the objections of Markham’s own public art curator — the city cancelled.

Because what city is complete without it’s own oversized artwork dedicated to sexual weirdness?

I watched Hamas unleash hell

A handsome man in his 20s in a military uniform zips past me on a motorised scooter. A woman with a tattoo and piercings calmly sips a cortado in a coffee shop across from me. A young family bustles past. This is Israel in 2023.

I am on my way to a screening of “raw” footage of the 7 October massacres that Hamas committed against Israeli civilians. Atrocities that are being denied and dismissed across social media and in parts of legacy media internationally. “In 2023 we are still dealing with holocaust denial,” says my contact in the IDF media unit. “This event is an attempt to put that right.” This is also Israel in 2023.

Air force will have to wait a few years longer to get armed drones because they don’t like arctic winters

Air force will have to wait even longer to get armed drones, defence department says

Canada’s air force will have to wait a few extra years to get the armed drones it has been promised for more than a decade — because, among other things, the pilotless aircraft require special modifications to fly in the Far North.

The federal government had planned to acquire by 2025 a fleet of MQ-9 Reaper drones, built by U.S. defence contractor General Atomics.
