The destructive transgender fad shows no sign of abating in California, but as school resumes, resistance is mounting.

Fads aren’t always harmful things. Hula hoops, lava lamps, and mood rings may have set you back a few bucks, but that was the extent of it. Other fads, like the various eating disorders that plagued the country in the 1970s, were recognized as dangerous and treated as mental health problems. Today, though, another fad—becoming transgender—is considered a lifestyle choice.

Pew Research finds that 5.1 percent of adults under 30 now claim to be trans or nonbinary. In reality, though, a staggering 99.4 percent of the population lacks the physical traits that cause someone to become transgender, according to UCLA’s Williams Institute, an LGBTQ advocacy group. The 0.6 percent of the adult population who are truly gender dysphoric deserves our attention and care.

Dutch Elections: Farmers Party Plummets As Greens Propose 75% Livestock Cull

The tide looks to be going out for agrarian populists in the Netherlands as recent polling shows the Dutch Farmers Movement (BBB) collapsing in the polls two months before national elections, as EU-backed Greens look to steady the boat on populist discontent.

The BBB was only founded in 2019 and, energised by the Netherlands’ running battle over the imposition of nitrogen quotas on the country’s agricultural sector, came in first in last March’s regional elections.

Jesse Kline: A Liberal national housing strategy is a monstrously terrible idea

In case you hadn’t heard, Canada is in the midst of a housing crisis, and by golly the federal government must do something about it! At least, that’s the prevailing opinion of the liberal chattering classes, who are demanding a national strategy to increase the supply of houses, rental units and Soviet-style co-operative housing.

For the past couple years, the Trudeau Liberals have at least been pretending to address the issue, in the typical “we’ll add a heap of regulations and throw a bunch of money at the problem so it looks like we’re taking it seriously” sort of way.

CBC stands to get largest share of cash from Online News Act, experts say

The CBC stands to receive the largest share of the $172-million the federal Online News Act is forecast to pump into Canada’s news sector, experts say, raising fears that the new legislation will make it harder for smaller news outlets to compete with the state-funded broadcaster.

The Online News Act, also known as Bill C-18, received royal assent in June and is scheduled to go into effect in December. It is designed to force the biggest online tech giants to compensate Canadian news organizations for posting or linking to their work.

Canada, gun nation: We buy more firearms per capita from U.S. than any other country. The reasons are chilling

In July 2018, a gunman in Toronto’s Danforth district randomly fired his U.S.-made .40-calibre Smith & Wesson semi-automatic pistol at passersby, killing 18-year-old Reese Fallon and 10-year-old Julianna Kozis, and wounding 13 others.

The crime gun was legally purchased from a Saskatchewan retailer and was later stolen. Police chiefs responded to the Danforth tragedy by reporting that gun crimes committed with lawfully purchased imported guns were on the rise across the country. (Canada makes few guns.)

It might come as a surprise that Canada, and not a conflict region, is the biggest per capita buyer of imported U.S. guns.

OMG! There are legal gun owners in Canada and they have “Assault Pistols.”

Communist regimes always kill, but communist China has achieved a truly insane level of butchery

One could fill a library with books about the manifold suffering and death caused by communism’s bloody century. The section on the murder and mayhem visited by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on the Chinese people would require an entire wing.

“The Black Book of Communism,” published in 1999 by Harvard University Press, ably summarizes the overall carnage. The editor, Stephane Courtois, estimated that the total death toll from 20th-century communism approached 100 million. And China tops the list with 65 million deaths.

The Difficulties of Supporting Both Free Speech and the ADL

Ordinary people have had enough of institutions collaborating with tech companies to censor the disfavored for the ‘public good.’

Mr. Greenblatt then pointed to these antisemites’ threads and suggested that the world needed more ADL-style speech monitoring to defeat all forms of “hate.”

Yet as the campaign grew, it became clear that most of the posts were not authored by antisemites. They were written by ordinary people who have had enough of institutions collaborating with tech companies to censor the disfavored for the “public good,” while only concerning themselves with one half of the public.”

Greenblatt is Al Sharpton with worse hair. Good piece, a brief but compelling argument calling for the Jewish community to disown the ADL.
