Why is the Biden administration refusing RFK Jr. Secret Service protection?
WASHINGTON — What has happened to the Democratic Party? Its elites have only one old codger running for the highest office in the land. The Republicans have at least a dozen, and one of them has held the presidency once already. He is Donald Trump, and some polls have him ahead of the old codger. By the way, the codger is really old. He is 80, and after him there is only Vice President Kamala Harris. All indications are that she is too young to be president.

Are the Duchess of Sussex’s political ambitions looking up?
From the palace to the White House? Joe Biden’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens, endorsed Meghan Markle as a woman she would back to be president, the Daily Mail reports. The former actress is topping a poll after Democrats asked which woman they would vote for. She is tied with Vice President Kamala Harris and ahead of Hillary Clinton.

With Hunter Biden’s plea deal on the ropes in federal court, a powerful House committee chairman is pushing for public Internal Revenue Service whistleblower testimony to be included in the record for the judge’s consideration. Mr. Biden’s legal team has been trying to block it — saying the inclusion of the whistleblower’s testimony, even though it’s public information, is a violation of his privacy rights.

A US federal jury has sentenced the attacker who killed 11 people at a synagogue in Pittsburgh in October 2018 to the death penalty.
The ruling needed a unanimous vote from the 12-member jury for the sentence to be imposed. Prosecutors had asked the jury to vote for the death penalty.
The same jury found the man guilty of all 63 charges stemming from the attack on the Tree of Life synagogue.
It was the worst antisemitic attack in American history.

In some political circles in the West, there is a popular tendency to consider Israel a “racist ” or “apartheid” country.
“I want you to know,” Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, who heads the Congressional Progressive Caucus, recently said during an appearance at the Netroots Nation Conference in Chicago, “that we have been fighting to make it clear that Israel is a racist state, that the Palestinian people deserve self-determination and autonomy, that the dream of a two-state solution is slipping away from us, that it does not even feel possible.”

“The Secret History of Gun Rights: How Lawmakers Armed the N.R.A.,” the prominently displayed 5,000-word lead story in Sunday’s New York Times, was the work of investigative reporter Mike McIntire, who spent the Obama years hassling the Tea Party and the GOP with hostile investigations before turning his attention to the National Rifle Association, the oldest civil rights group in America which defends the Second Amendment rights of citizens.
The online subhead read: “They served in Congress and on the N.R.A.’s board at the same time. Over decades, a small group of legislators led by a prominent Democrat pushed the gun lobby to help transform the law, the courts and views on the Second Amendment.”
“It’s very unfortunate. My husband is extremely upset because it’s his first Ferrari. But we hope we can find it,” a woman, who asked to be identified only as Trish, told CTV News Toronto in an interview.

ROME — Pope Francis began his four-day visit to Portugal for World Youth Day by blasting capitalism, populism, and insufficient attention to migrants and climate change.
“At a time when we are witnessing in many places a climate of protest and unrest, fertile terrain for populism and conspiracy theories, World Youth Day represents a chance to build together,” the pontiff told civil authorities and diplomats gathered in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon.

Espionage, terrorism, plotting against governments? Numbers offer a glimpse of Canada’s security screening — and its problems
Canada’s border security officials have flagged people almost 1,000 times over the past decade for alleged involvement in espionage, in terrorism or in bringing down a government — but only a small fraction have been deported.
And experts say there is likely good reason for that.

Even prominent liberals think the handling of the migrant crisis in Democrat-run cities is “full of s–t.”
Self-styled “old-school liberal” Bill Maher has blasted progressive leaders of “woke” cities — including New York City — as being hypocritical in crying foul over the mass influx of asylum seekers.
The HBO host said that sanctuary cities have been “hoist with their own petard” by signaling that they welcome migrants, just to panic and complain when they actually get shipped in from overwhelmed border states.

A new report highlights Canada’s major drop in surgeries during the early years of the pandemic, but those pains were felt unequally across the country’s patchwork provincial health-care systems — with the largest decrease in procedures seen in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The findings were released Wednesday by the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), an independent organization which compiles and analyzes health system data.
The CIHI team found roughly 743,000 fewer surgeries were performed in Canada during the first 2½ years of the pandemic — a drop of about 13 per cent compared to 2019.

Oh, ick, ick, ick, Ashley Biden, ICK
…It sure was “crazy.” Ashley Biden suffered from sexual and drug addictions and wrote in her diary that her dad would often take showers with her. She also wrote that she would wait until late at night to take showers to avoid her dad slipping into the shower with her.

Governments still not studying cannabis smoke’s emissions or toxicity nearly five years after legalization
Nearly five years after Canada legalized recreational cannabis, Anne McLellan is still waiting for what she thought would happen after ending prohibition: testing the smoke.
A former federal health minister and deputy prime minister who later chaired the task force that laid the framework for legalization, Ms. McLellan had expected a flurry of analyses on the potential health effects of frequent cannabis consumption, as governments had promised to fund further study. But none of that research has happened, and so Canadians have no greater knowledge about what cannabis does to their bodies.

A fast food restaurant in Argentina has been called “offensive” and “disgusting” by Jewish groups after serving items named after Holocaust victim Anne Frank and former Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
