Trudeau Responds to Privy Council Document Citing ‘Active Foreign Interference Network’

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded today to questions about a 2020 briefing document from the Privy Council Office (PCO) that mentioned an “active foreign interference network,” which was linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) during Canada’s 2019 federal election.

Trudeau told reporters in Ottawa that the federal government has been aware of foreign interference attempts in Canadian society “for a long time.”

“Foreign interference is a real thing, against our institutions, against communities, against Canadians,” he said on Dec. 14.

He would know, his handlers placed them there.

Russia preparing large-scale offensive deep into Ukraine as far as Kyiv

Russia is preparing to launch a large-scale offensive in the new year, building up its forces to advance deep into Ukraine as far as Kyiv, Ukraine’s top commander has warned.

General Valery Zaluzhny, commander-in-chief of the armed forces, said the attack could come “in February, at best in March and at worst at the end of January”.

He warned that Vladimir Putin’s mobilisation drive “has worked” and Russia is now reconstituting its troops to overturn embarrassing defeats this summer and gain more territory.

Canada’s electronic spy agency is watching out for security threats from the popular Chinese-owned social media app TikTok, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Thursday.

Responding to questions from reporters in a pre-cabinet scrum on Parliament Hill, Trudeau said the Communications Security Establishment, Canada’s foreign signals intelligence agency, is keeping an eye on TikTok as Republican lawmakers move to ban the app in the U.S.

The parents of Kaylee Goncalves, one of the four murdered Idaho students, are begging local businesses to comb through surveillance footage after a gas station attendant found a clip of a white Hyundai on the night of the unsolved killings.

Police are investigating the car after it stopped at an Exxon Mobil station around 3.45am on November 13, a mile away from where Kaylee, 21, Maddie Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, were murdered in their off-campus home between 3am and 4am.

Police said earlier this month that they believe the occupants of the vehicle ‘may have critical information’ regarding the murder case.

After all the months of hype and expectation, building up to a frenzy over the past few weeks – with every trailer for the show being scrutinised as if it was going to reveal some dark secret – the final judgement on this deeply unimpressive, prurient series has to be that it is nothing more than a cynical exercise in presenting a deeply partisan account of two obviously troubled and unhappy people’s lives: their truth, if you will.

Transgender Organization Cancels Publication Of ‘Brain Sex’ Article

A transgender rights organization decided against publishing an article on a “biological” theory of transgenderism after backlash from activists.

TransLucent, a U.K.-based transgender advocacy group, released a statement on Tuesday saying it would no longer be publishing a “groundbreaking article” that claims “being trans is a biological condition.” TransLucent had previously announced its plans to publish the article on Friday, December 16, in a now-deleted Twitter post. After receiving hundreds of critical comments, the advocacy group reversed course. Many expressed apprehension that the search to find a biological basis for transgenderism was misguided and could be exploited (with eugenics mentioned as a top concern).

The Urban Criminal-Justice Disaster – Ideological progressives have no business leading law enforcement agencies

John Updike famously defined the “true New Yorker” as someone harboring a “secret belief that people living anywhere else had to be, in some sense, kidding.” This hometown chauvinism once rang true in the hearts of Americans who resided in other great cities, from Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. to Seattle and Los Angeles.

But America’s great metropolises risk sliding into violence, disorder, and decline. The chief cause is the progressive belief that social-justice priorities can and should be addressed through the manipulation of law enforcement policies. Social-justice concerns are animated by an impulse to address undesirable outcomes in economics, politics, education, race, sex, and even health care. These matters are more properly understood as complex social processes. The criminal law’s purpose, however, is more straightforward: to prevent crime, preserve public order, and protect law-abiding citizens.

It presents us with a spectacle of difference. Not the difference of individual autonomy—self-determining into oblivion through a myriad of consumer choices, even unto the invention of new ‘genders’—but rather of national difference.

Of course, spectator sport can function as an opiate, sublimating and siphoning off certain energies. Perhaps the patriotic verve it mobilizes would otherwise manifest politically as a reaction against globalist monoculture.

Linz to rename Porsche Street after investigating Nazi past of car creator

The Austrian city of Linz has announced plans to rename a street honouring the founder of the luxury carmaker Porsche after a commission investigating controversial names found his Nazi past “problematic”.

The renaming of streets and other public places is still a hotly debated issue in Austria – Adolf Hitler’s birthplace – which Nazi Germany annexed in 1938 and which long cast itself as a victim.

Only in the past three decades has the country begun to seriously examine its role in the Holocaust, in which about a third of Austria’s Jewish population of 200,000 were murdered.
