WASHINGTON, Nov 29 (Reuters) – Russia is firing unarmed cruise missiles that were designed to carry nuclear warheads at targets in Ukraine to try to deplete Kyiv’s stocks of air defenses, a senior U.S. military official said on Tuesday.
The official, who declined to be named, was asked about a Nov. 26 assessment by Britain’s military intelligence which said that Russia was “likely” removing nuclear warheads from cruise missiles and firing the unarmed munitions into Ukraine.

For the first time fewer than half of people in England and Wales describe themselves as Christian, the Census 2021 has revealed.
The proportion of people who said they were Christian was 46.2%, down from 59.3% in the last census in 2011.

In a letter sent on Monday to a House of Commons committee studying possible Beijing interference in the 2019 general election, Commissioner Lucki said Mounties lacked evidence of wrongdoing in that vote but they are looking at wider interference by China, including “interference in democratic processes” in Canada.
