Has a political activist group ever fallen from grace quicker than the once-beloved Black Lives Matter?

After leading the outrage in 2020 over George Floyd’s death and collecting tens of millions of dollars in donations, the group has been repeatedly exposed for using these funds on personal expenses instead of the social justice causes the group claimed they supported. After multiple reports earlier this year of BLM using donations to buy mansions, yet another group leader has been accused of stealing more than $10 million from its charitable contributions.

A polite reminder that Canadian handgun crime is mostly America’s fault

As the Trudeau government deepens their crackdown on the legal ownership of handguns, evidence continues to emerge showing that Canadian handgun crimes are committed almost exclusively with smuggled U.S. weapons.

In a recent analysis, the National Post’s Bryan Passifiume found that 72 per cent of the crime guns seized by Toronto Police this year had likely origins in the United States.

Blame America? Why not blame the criminals? Or bad immigration policy?

The stabbing spree in Saskatchewan, which left 11 dead and 19 injured, is shocking and horrific, but, as more details emerge, the story begins to sound all too familiar.

Early Sunday morning, according to law enforcement, suspects Damien Sanderson, 31, and Myles Sanderson, 30, embarked on a violent rampage across at least 13 separate locations in James Smith Cree Nation and the nearby village of Weldon. As of Monday afternoon, Damien Sanderson was dead, his body found at James Smith Cree Nation and added to the death count. Myles was added to the injured list and the manhunt to capture him continues.

Canada’s government-driven labour market recovery is unsustainable

At first glance, according to several commonly used indicators, Canada’s labour market has recovered from the initial COVID recession that began in 2020. Canada’s unemployment rate is now lower than when the pandemic hit, and the employment rate (the share of the adult population that’s working) has almost recovered to pre-COVID levels.

However, the story is more complicated than the headline numbers suggest. The latest monthly labour force statistics confirm that the government sector – not the private sector – has driven job growth since 2020.

The Iranian government is planning to use facial recognition technology on public transport to identify women who are not complying with a strict new law on wearing the hijab, as the regime continues its increasingly punitive crackdown on women’s dress.

The secretary of Iran’s Headquarters for Promoting Virtue and Preventing Vice, Mohammad Saleh Hashemi Golpayegani, announced in a recent interview that the government was planning to use surveillance technology against women in public places following a new decree signed by the country’s hardline president, Ebrahim Raisi, on restricting women’s clothing.

The worst mass stabbing in Canadian history happened Sunday, about an hour before sunrise. The numbers alone are horrendous: 10 people are dead and 15 are wounded as of Sept. 4.

… While we wait for details, one frightening pattern is apparent: the RCMP’s stubborn reluctance to give good, timely information to the public when mass killers are at large. We expect police to tell us when they know a killer is on the loose nearby — especially those of us who live and work outside the big city.

It wasn’t so long ago that Germany was able to present itself as the sensible man of Europe – the wise country which retained control of its public finances while other governments were losing their heads, and whose taxpayers were a little resentful about having to bail out less-responsible southern European nations. Now it is Europe’s fool.

As China Imposes More Covid Lockdowns, ‘Everyone Is Scared’

In the hours before the southern Chinese city of Chengdu entered a coronavirus lockdown, Matthew Chen visited four vegetable markets in an attempt to stock up on fresh food. But seemingly the entire city had the same idea, and by the time he got to each place, most of the shelves had been stripped bare, except for hot peppers and fruit, he said.

Mr. Chen, a white-collar worker in his 30s, managed to scavenge enough cherry tomatoes, meat and greens for about one day, and since then has been ordering grocery deliveries to tide him through the lockdown, which began on Friday. But he worries about whether that supply will remain stable, and how much longer he will have to rely on it.

Police arrested dozens of vegan activists today as they targeted Britain’s next Prime Minister Liz Truss after trespassing in dairy plants across the country.

Animal Rebellion protestors launched a second day of direct action at Arla and Muller’s processing plants as they drilled through truck tyres and filled pipes with expanding foam on Monday.

Another protest from the offshoot of Extinction Rebellion took place outside the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster, just hours before the new Tory Party leader was named.

Just a few days back, I wrote a piece on Chloe Cole, a teenage girl who suffered under “gender affirming healthcare” — at age 15, a surgeon performed a double mastectomy on her, stripping her of naturally feminine, and youthful body. She addressed the reality of “destransitioning” back to her God-given sex, detailing the tremendous pain of moving forward after life-altering surgery, which she deeply regretted. Cole expressed what she needed was true ‘do no harm’ care, but what she got was politicized exploitation.
