Former U.S. president Donald Trump has issued a statement criticizing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over vaccine mandates and expressing support for the trucker convoy protests happening across Canada.
In a statement issued Friday, Trump backed the demonstration, now entering its second week in Ottawa.
“The Freedom Convoy is peacefully protesting the harsh policies of far left lunatic Justin Trudeau who has destroyed Canada with insane Covid mandates,” Trump said.

The crowdfunding platform claimed the convoy fundraiser – which raised $10million Canadian dollars ($8 million USD) in support of truckers protesting against COVID-19 vaccine mandates – violated its terms of service ‘which prohibits the promotion of violence and harassment.’

Ontario reports 59 more COVID-19 deaths; under 2,500 hospitalizations
Ontario reported another 59 COVID-19 deaths today, as virus-related hospitalizations and ICU capacity continues to slowly decline.
The Ministry of Health says all of the deaths reported today occured in the past month with five deaths on Feb. 4, 19 on Feb. 3, seven on Feb. 2 and the remaining in the previous days.
501 people are in ICU with #COVID19. 80% of patients admitted to the ICU were admitted for COVID-19 and 20% were admitted for other reasons but have tested positive for COVID-19.
There are 3,204 new cases of #COVID19.

OTTAWA – Canada’s chief public health officer says provinces are going to have to find a balance between containing the virus with public health measures and returning to a sense of normalcy as the Omicron wave continues to crest.
Several provinces have signalled their intention to do away with some, if not all, remaining COVID-19 health restrictions.
Call it a protest. An occupation. A siege.
… Sloly described the protest as a well-funded, well-organized movement that includes multiple command posts — in Ottawa, across the country and even overseas — that finally compelled his force to adjust, one week after the protest started.
“We are literally learning lessons every day,” he said.
One of those lessons-learned is that this protest is so big and so scary, police aren’t even confident it could be controlled if they tried to break it up.
