From childcare to taxes: What Trudeau’s projected win really means for your pocketbook

Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau’s projected victory in Canada’s 2021 federal election gives him another chance to fulfil the promise of a $10-a-day child-care system and take a shot at taming the country’s housing woes.

Trudeau is now projected to continue on as Canada’s prime minister, although at the head of a minority government and with an electoral result very close to that of the 2019 federal vote.

We’re all gonna be poorer, well not all of us. The political and corporate class will grow fat on our blood.

Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole’s ideology shift was not enough to surpass Liberals

Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole’s ideology shift was not enough to surpass Liberals

Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole steered his party back toward the ideological centre of Canadian politics in 2021 and made this shift a key selling point during the five-week election campaign.

But it was not enough to win Canada’s 44th general election as Justin Trudeau’s Liberals will form the next government.

While Mr. O’Toole’s restyling of the Conservatives resulted in few gains, with projections of only a handful of extra seats at most, his party did hold Mr. Trudeau’s Liberals to another minority government.

What is there to say?

I voted PPC.

The party formerly called Conservative is now remade as a centre-left ersatz alternative to the Liberal Party proving O’Toole is a successful leader, just not a conservative one.

They should rebrand and remove “conservative” from the party name. Clearly the brain trust believes O’Toole and their newly scrubbed ideology to be the party’s future so they may as well ride that pony into the sunset. Given the CPC’s knack for shooting themselves in the foot I’m sure they could find an even worse replacement so what’s the point of even trying. Sphincter relaxant all round!

The PPC increased it’s vote share while winning no seats. They have I hope the determination to stay the course.

Alberta should give serious consideration to leaving as the ex-Conservative party cannot help them. Either that or we nuke Toronto and Montreal. We should probably do that anyway come to think of it.

The predator class won, we lost. No more need be said.

Many are calling for O’Toole’s head on Twitter. They best learn to live with him or find another political home. The CPC is no more.

Fearless prediction – This black-faced asshole will be re-elected PM in a minority government – Election day

Fearless prediction – This black-faced asshole will be re-elected PM in a minority government – Election day

Alas my prediction came to be. The result will be a second LPC government.

I see no reason for a Conservative party leadership review of Erin O’Toole’s tenure. O’Toole was successful in turning the CPC centre left and championing the widespread availability of sphincter relaxant. Mission accomplished.

Jonathan Kay: After this grubby campaign, who in their right mind would want to run for office?

… And no, I am not back-ending this column into a pro-Erin-O’Toole manifesto (it’s too late for that, anyway). Historically, the Conservatives have recruited much of their young talent from the ranks of right-leaning business owners, activists, lawyers and community leaders. But the post-Harper years have marked what is basically a steady renunciation of almost every identifiably conservative idea or principle that might be seized upon as grist for aforesaid Liberal (and media) demagoguery.

Trudeau in blackface row (again) Not a great look…

Justin Trudeau’s snap election has just gone from bad to worse. The incumbent Canadian prime minister decided last month to call a snap election to improve his parliamentary standing.

It was a contest no one wanted (or expected) and the move seems to have backfired spectacularly. Hectored by anti-vaxxers, lambasted for his COVID record and lampooned as ‘UnCanadian’ for calling a contest in a pandemic, Trudeau is hoping to preserve his current number of seats, let alone dream of increasing it.

We’ll be discussing the results as they come in, welcoming a number of special guests and we’ll also have reporters in Toronto and Saskatoon at the Conservative Party and PPC’s victory parties.

Unlike the legacy media, we won’t be discussing how fancy Trudeau’s socks are or pushing leftist pet causes on you. Instead, we’ll be focussing on the issues that matter to Canadians.

Canadians deserve extensive coverage of election night, and that’s exactly what we’re striving to do tonight.

I hope to see you tonight.

Thank you,

The squalid world of Justin Trudeau

A craven political culture could swing the election for Canada’s prime minister

… Now, as Canada enters the final days of its third federal election in six years, there is no more of that. It’s hard to say when Mr Trudeau went from international golden boy to punch-line to an unfunny joke: was it the novelty socks? Was it his fancy dress-wearing and terrorist-hosting trip to India? Was it the blackface? Was it his groping of a woman? Was it him dressing down a woman who had said “mankind” instead of “peoplekind”?

And those are only the scandals the rest of the world cared about.

People’s Party Of Canada Will Be Permanent Player In Canadian Politics

According to an ideology of self-hatred, Canadians must loathe our society. We must together hang our heads in shame as we weep over the history of our nation. Repeat after Jagmeet Singh: “we are a racist, bigoted, homophobic and xenophobic society.”

The People’s Party of Canada reject this vision. Therefore, they are to spend every living moment in the media doghouse. They are right-wing bigots. They hate “racialized” Canadians. They are but one goose-step removed from 20th Century Fascist Europe.
