The truth about Black Lives Matter

Did former President Donald Trump ’s behavior lead to Black Lives Matter , the 2020 riots, and the fraught racial and sexual politics upending American society? That’s a far-fetched theory that can’t withstand the barest scrutiny, yet one of the leading voices in today’s leftist media advances it as an explanation for the present moment.

Jonathan Chait is not just any journalist. A columnist for New York magazine, he’s one of the preeminent members of the political class that forms elite leftist opinion in this country. It is important, therefore, to point out when he veers from the truth.

The FBI Agents Association rewarded agents who took a knee in front of BLM, proving the rot isn’t just at the top

The FBI Agents Association bills itself as “dedicated to advancing and safeguarding the careers, economic interests, conditions of employment and welfare of FBI agents and retired FBI agents.” Founded in 1981, the nonprofit boasts 14,000 members — including 90% of the current agent workforce — and once enjoyed almost universal appeal and respect among them. End of the Line for Black Lives Matter?

Candace Owens isn’t Black Lives Matter’s biggest problem this month; its own website and social media posts are. These are not exactly new revelations because the information has been online for years but, when American Thinker readers help take it viral, it’s the end of the world for this race hustling anti-Semitic fraud, and egg on the face of every organization and political figure that has gotten behind it. These could claim reasonably, at least until now, that they didn’t know, but now they no longer have this excuse. They need to get clear of this impending public relations catastrophe immediately if not sooner.

Sharon Osbourne wants refund after donating $900K to ‘scam’ Black Lives Matter

Sharon Osbourne wants her money back.

The former “The Talk” co-host agreed with Kanye West about Black Lives Matter being a “scam” when TMZ asked her about the rapper’s recent antics, from his White Lives Matter shirt to his social media tirades.

“Well, we gave $900,000 to [Black Lives Matter], and I’d like my money back please,” she told a reporter.

“I don’t understand why white lives don’t matter. I don’t understand it. It’s not my culture,” she said. “Everybody matters, don’t they?”

Alleged Waukesha parade killer Darrel Brooks disrupts 1st day of trial with bizarre antics

The man accused of fatally mowing down six parade-goers during the Waukesha Christmas parade in Wisconsin last year was tossed from court multiple times for a series of strange outbursts on Monday.

Darrel Brooks, 40, disrupted proceedings ahead of jury selection, forcing the judge to take numerous breaks and to eventually instruct him to participate from another room.

Brooks, who is representing himself, bizarrely interrupted Waukesha County Judge Jennifer Dorow, arguing he did not recognize her as a judge or the state of Wisconsin.

The Falling Black Incarceration Rate

The disparity between whites and blacks has shrunk.

William J. Sabol and Thaddeus L. Johnson of the Council on Criminal Justice have released a new report breaking down the black–white gap in incarceration since 2000—focusing on state prisons, which house the vast majority of prisoners in the U.S., and excluding Hispanics from both the black and white populations.

They find that the disparity has markedly decreased, a little-noticed trend. In 2000, fewer than 300 of every 100,000 white adults were in state prisons. For blacks, the number was about eight times higher—nearly 2,500. Over the next two decades, the black rate fell by nearly half, while the white rate first edged up and then dipped somewhat, bringing the disparity under five-to-one in 2020.

Black Lives Matter: An Empty Slogan

The status of Black Lives Matter as a credibly alleged race-hustling fraud against the trust of the American people was reinforced during the past week, as reported in “Wilkes-Barre man charged with nearly striking officer, selling crack cocaine.” A nearby crowd nonetheless took the suspect’s side during the confrontation: “a crowd gathered and began yelling, ‘Black Lives Matter’ and hurled expletives toward officers, according to court records.”

‘Take your a** home!’ Heavily-armed black rights groups march through Austin chanting anti-illegal migrant slogans, demands Biden ‘close the border’ and calls for ‘reparations to be paid NOW’

Armed activists with a coalition of black self-defense groups marched in Austin, Texas over the weekend calling for an end to illegal immigration and demanding that President Biden close the borders.

Some of the activists chanted ‘close the borders’ and ‘take your a** home’ as they marched toward the Texas Capitol in the ‘Second Amendment Unity Walk’ on Saturday.

The march was led by The Elmer ‘Geronimo’ Pratt Pistol & Rifle Gun Club. Their demands also included reparations for descendants of enslaved people and a hate crime bill protecting Black Americans.

Well this blows up the preferred narrative.

BLM was meant to help black people — it’s done the opposite.

A requiem for Black Lives Matter

Black Lives Matter has yet to receive a requiem, a summation in print. More than seven years into the globally unavoidable anti-police movement, there certainly exists a sizable BLM academic literature, dealing – as my political science colleague Bob Maranto has pointed out – with questions ranging from how the movement impacted on youth-voter turnout to the social impact of Ben & Jerry’s selling politically themed flavours of ice-cream.
