No one really wants to host the Olympics, especially after Tokyo’s nightmare. What does the future hold?

When the Olympic torch is lit in Tokyo, it will happen in a country that wishes the Games had been extinguished.

With vaccination rates still low in Japan, the Olympics will be held as the city is in a state of emergency and there will be no spectators in the stands. Tourists won’t flock into the country, because international spectators were banned months ago, so there will be little to offset the more than $18-billion cost.

The Olympics are a money making scam for a few. I would never vote to host them here.

Money, politics and split opinion in Japan on ‘grand gift’ of Tokyo Olympics

An illustration shared on social media shows International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach wearing a face mask and cheerfully waving, while the accompanying text conveys the message that people in Japan don’t necessarily want to reciprocate.

“We can’t wave back — meaning we’re pretty depressed, it’s a bit of an emergency,” said Hyung-Gu Lynn, a professor in the Asian studies department at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He describes an ambivalent mood in Japan, addressed in a recent meme, ahead of the pending Olympics.

The pandemic-adjusted Tokyo Games get underway on July 23 under a state of emergency in the capital and amid opposition from those who fear the potential public health consequences of what’s to come.

“Grand Grift” is spot on.

Why Are We Suddenly Allowed to Talk About the Lab Leak Theory?

The theater is all about the production. Lines are memorized, actors go through rehearsals, and then they perform in front of an audience.

Jon Stewart is not a commentator even though lefties insisted on pretending he was a deep political thinker, and creating two dozen political shows hosted by comedians. He’s an actor.

Blackrock owns America’s homes – and a whole lot else

If you’ve been thinking of buying a house, you’ve probably noticed that house prices are soaring everywhere, not just in the usual preferred zip codes. You might have thought this is simply because of market deformations thanks to COVID and the lockdowns. In fact, the soaring prices reflect something much more sinister: Blackrock, an investment company is buying up housing stock, turning America into a nation of renters – that is, people with no stake in their communities or their futures. However, what’s really sinister is that it’s not just housing stock. BlackRock, along with The Vanguard Group, owns a disproportionate number of American corporations, more even than you realize.

Maybe boycotts don’t work, but that doesn’t quite end the debate about the 2022 Olympics in China

Maybe boycotts don’t work, but that doesn’t quite end the debate about the 2022 Olympics in China

The debate about whether Canadian athletes should boycott the next winter Olympics, scheduled to take place in China in 2022, ultimately rests on a series of questions about the efficacy of such action, the morality of proceeding with the games and even who should get to decide whether or not to launch a boycott.

But if the Olympics do proceed with most of the world’s nations represented, the question might then become whether its grand stage could be used to air the political and humanitarian concerns that now encircle the games.

The boycott is the right approach, it will piss off Canada’s China class. The Olympics are just another elitist scam few would miss.

Professional Sports Experienced Steep Fall in Ratings and Revenue in 2020

Sports industry profits dropped by billions of dollars in 2020 across major leagues as the CCP virus pandemic caused stadiums to close up.

Despite larger amounts of people staying home due to lockdowns, TV ratings also plummeted remarkably—to about an average of half of last year’s figure.

Front Office Sports reported that the league that suffered the greatest was the MLB at $5.2 billion. The league was widely criticized for appeasing to the Marxist-inspired Black Lives Matter and other leftist movements.

Locally the tone deaf Toronto Raptors have been running an ad that opens with a shot of a Black Lives Matter banner.  Imagine that, the wealthy and privileged running ads for a communist race-hate group. Maybe the Leafs will run an ad for the KKK.

These Cities Built Minor League Ballparks With Taxpayer Money. Now They Don’t Have Teams To Play in Them.

A reshuffling and reduction of Major League Baseball’s feeder system means spending taxpayer money on stadiums looks even more foolish than it was before.

You can bet Tory’s pals will be demanding tax dollars for a new stadium. With luck they’ll move out of town.

Ruling Class Gotta Have a War

All of a sudden Elon Musk has become the second richest man in the world. How did he do it? With Tesla, the electric car company, whose stock has risen 650% this year.

How come I always miss out on these deals? It’s not as if Tesla is a secret.

Sensibly, Musk is heading out of California for Texas. After all, why would he want to pay California state income tax on his stock options?
