Global Affairs Canada says 234 Canadians, PRs and family members left Gaza Sunday

Global Affairs Canada said 234 Canadians, permanent residents and their eligible family members have crossed from Gaza into Egypt Sunday.

The update came as the Rafah crossing reopened after a two-day closure, allowing foreign nationals to flee the war-torn territory.

Dalia Salim, a London, Ont. woman, said her 66-year-old father crossed the border Sunday with her uncle, who is a U.S. citizen.

GUNTER: All signs point to a federal election in 2024

I bet there will be a federal election by the end of 2024, well before the Liberal and NDP supply-and-confidence agreement runs out in 2025.

Think of the House of Commons as a prison ship adrift on the high seas, on which each deck of inmates has become stir crazy and begun gazing at one another the way coyotes contemplate hares.

Trudeau will run the clock, he’s a narcissist.

For Both Trudeau and Biden, Polls Suggest an Uphill Political Path

The economy, and particularly inflation, has soured voters on both leaders, polls indicate, though well in advance of upcoming votes.

For months now, Mr. Trudeau’s Liberal Party has been rapidly sinking in public opinion surveys, while more recent polls suggest that the Conservatives under Pierre Poilievre would win any election held now.

Similarly, new polls by The New York Times and Siena College have found that Mr. Biden is trailing Donald J. Trump in five of the six most important battleground states.

Comparing the political situations in Canada and the United States is a fraught business because of a variety of differences between the countries and their political systems. And, of course, Americans don’t vote for another year, and Canada’s next federal election is likely to be two years off.

‘Unprecedented’: Antisemitism has skyrocketed in the wake of the Israel-Hamas war

Toronto’s Jewish community is highlighting the need to combat antisemitism amid a spike in hatred against Jews that some have described as “stunning.”

This week marks Holocaust Education Week, and for many Jews in the city, the lessons of the Holocaust are front of mind.

Since the surprise Oct. 7 terror attack in which Hamas killed 1,400 Israelis and took some 240 hostages, and the subsequent response by Israel, which has left some 10,000 Palestinians dead according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry, incidents of hatred targeting Jews have spiked.

Everyone is shocked yet mystified.

Some white guy has to take the fall and walk around with a confederate flag to ease tensions by allowing the usual suspects to blame the usual suspects.

Opinion: On Remembrance Day, has Canada forgotten?

Canadians were proud after the Second World War, not only for what we had accomplished with our allies but with the notable distinctions earned by Canadian units, especially in Normandy. Canadians at home contributed financial support toward the war and cheered for our military. Industries manufactured weapons and prepared food for troops abroad, and Canadians truly became united across our vast territory.

The Government invites a million settlers a year who share little by way of culture and values with Canada. Don’t be surprised our “quaint traditions” are being swept under the rug.

David Rosenberg: Canada can’t count to a million — and it’s skewing the data policymakers need

A thoughtful approach to immigration has been a historical strength of Canadian economic policy. The recent post-COVID-19 immigration surge has created a number of well-known challenges, however, as slow-moving housing markets and social services systems adjust to the sudden rise in the country’s population.

But another, seemingly more basic, problem has arisen for policymakers and analysts alike: Canada’s population has become increasingly difficult to count, and the balance of evidence points toward an undercount of one million temporary residents in the country’s main employment survey. This has eroded the reliability of a host of market-relevant variables involving population counts, from employment figures to housing construction to productivity.

‘Far worse than you can imagine’: How Iran’s regime has ‘spread its tentacles’ in Canada

Hamed Esmaeilion has to watch his back wherever he goes — unable to escape the oppressive and violent regime that rules his homeland of Iran, even when he’s in Canada.

When he first arrived in 2010 with his wife Parisa and daughter Reera, Esmaeilion thought he had come to the safest country in the world.

“But it’s not,” he says.

Gee, I was writing about this stuff away back in 2013 and broke some interesting stories on the Jaffari centre … But I was an Islamophobic H8tr back then of course.

Jason Kenney Visits Iran’s Outpost In Canada

I find it hard to believe that Kenney could not have been aware of the Jaffari Centre’s direct links to Iran’s Khomeinist regime. The Jaffari Centre is run by the ISIJ, The Islamic Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaat. The ISIJ Maulana, Seyed Mohammad Rizvi, is one the founders of the Ahlul Bayt Assembly of Canada. The Ahlul Bayt Assembly takes it’s orders directly from Tehran, as detailed in this Memri.org report, its purpose is to spread Khomeinist propaganda in Canada.

The ISIJ has been directly linked to multiple acts of Jew Hate in Toronto: Al Quds Day, CASMO’s David Duke video’s, The East End Madrassah Nazi curriculumetc etc etc…

In fairness to Kenney he says he was not aware of the Jaffari groups unseemly history and stated they were suggested by a Jewish group as being worth a visit.

‘I felt very, very unsafe’: Top Conservative says senators, MPs ‘under attack’ by pro-Palestinian protesters in Ottawa

Pro-Palestinian protesters harassed and attacked MPs and senators as they gathered for a meeting near Parliament Hill this week, the Conservative Party leader in the Senate says.

Senator Don Plett says he was stopped and harassed by “probably 30 or 40” protesters as he drove into a building for the meeting. They blocked traffic and insisted drivers take pamphlets, and targeted him as he attempted to drive around them.

Joly to take Hamas shoe shopping

LILLEY: Melanie Joly needs to clarify careless Hamas comments

Out of thin air on Thursday, Melanie Joly created a new foreign policy as it relates to Israel’s war against Hamas.

Canada now wants a ceasefire; we now want a détente, and we now want negotiations that Hamas is part of alongside Israel and Qatar.

UPDATE: Foreign affairs minister walks back Israel-Hamas comments, as Justin Trudeau calls for ‘humanitarian pause’

Online video tells travellers not to fly Air India; poster denies message is a threat

The Canadian government and law enforcement agencies are remaining tight-lipped about a video circulating online telling travellers not to fly Air India after Nov. 19.

The video was posted by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, an advocate for an independent Sikh state known as Khalistan.

Pannun, who lives in Washington, D.C., is listed as a terrorist in India due to his views.

Jesse Kline: Liberal immigration plan exposes the folly of big government

It is becoming clear to an increasing number of Canadians that the rapid influx of new immigrants brought in by the federal Liberals is exposing cracks in a country with an overburdened health system, a massive social safety net and a bureaucracy that stifles the economy and prevents housing and infrastructure from keeping up with population growth.

A series of recent polls found that 44 per cent of the country thinks immigration levels are too high, with even higher levels of dissatisfaction in Liberal strongholds such as Vancouver (49 per cent) and the Greater Toronto Area (57 per cent).

Typically in articles about mass immigration the negative effect it has on “social cohesion” remains unmentioned.  As the GTA grows ever more diverse White flight will only increase. I suspect “work from home” has proved a welcome relief to many in ways not talked about in PC circles.

Canada’s prosperity problem points to a lower-wage future

Thirty years ago, Canada could be rightly thought of as one of the more prosperous countries in the world. Canadians were not quite as rich as Americans, but we had many other advantages – and were better off than pretty much everyone else.

That’s the past. The present and future look to be a great deal less pleasant: Canada is not just losing ground relative to other countries but there is an increasing likelihood of an outright decline in living standards.

But bringing in a Million migrants a year is a great idea.
