The Justin Trudeau-appointed anti-Islamophobia advisor pushed federal managers to create dedicated Muslim prayer rooms in government offices, even though only 2% of federal employees identify as Muslim, newly obtained records show.

Blacklock’s Reporter says Amira Elghawaby, appointed by cabinet as the government’s Special Representative on Combating Islamophobia, argued that failing to provide prayer spaces during work hours amounted to “Islamophobia in the workplace,” according to notes released through Access To Information.


She should be fired and the post abolished but Carney cares only for votes.

Carney announces plan for 1,000 more border officers, with boost in benefits to aid recruitment

Prime Minister Mark Carney announced plans to hire 1,000 new border officers, with a boost to their benefits package in the forthcoming budget to aid recruitment.

The stipend for recruits in training as Canada Border Services Agency officers will increase more than fourfold, to $525 a week from $125, he said.

He also unveiled plans in the Nov. 4 budget to improve pension benefits for border officers and other front-line first responders, including search-and-rescue personnel.

Maxime Bernier warns Canadians of threat to internet access posed by Liberal bill

People’s Party of Canada (PPC) leader Maxime Bernier called a new Liberal federal bill that, if passed, would empower the government to ban anyone’s internet access a “digital guillotine” designed to “silence critics.”

“I want to talk to you about a number that should send a chill down your spine: Bill C-8. The Liberals are trying to set it as a cybersecurity bill. Don’t believe them. This bill is a digital guillotine,” Bernier said in a recent X video post.

Bernier said that Bill C-8, named “An Act respecting cyber security, amending the Telecommunications Act and making consequential amendments to other Acts,” would give unprecedented power to federal officials with no due process.

Ottawa’s Gun Buyback Amnesty Period Extended to October 2026

Public Safety Canada has announced that the amnesty period for owners of recently designated prohibited firearms has been extended by another year, to Oct. 30, 2026.

The federal department said on Oct. 15 that licensed owners and businesses who possess prohibited, “assault-style” firearms must dispose of or deactivate them before the amnesty period expires, “or risk criminal liability for the illegal possession of a prohibited firearm.”

Poilievre blasts ‘despicable’ RCMP leadership, accuses Mounties of covering up for Trudeau

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre took aim at the RCMP’s independence in a recent interview, calling the national police force’s leadership “despicable” and accused the national police force of covering up for the Liberal government and former prime minister Justin Trudeau.

“If the RCMP had been doing its job and not covering up for him, then he would have been criminally charged,” the Opposition leader said in an interview posted to YouTube on Wednesday.

Speaking to the YouTube channel Northern Perspective, Poilievre said Trudeau broke the law when he took a free vacation, a reference to the 2016 Aga Khan scandal.

9 in 10 Canadians Say They’re Worried About Housing in Canada: Poll

Nearly 90 percent of Canadians across generational, geographic, and political lines are concerned about the state of housing in the country, a new survey suggests.

Eighty-seven percent of the 3,900 adults polled last month say they are worried about affordability and availability of housing in Canada.

The survey conducted by Abacus Data in collaboration with the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) between Sept. 5 and 16, paints a picture of widespread concern across political affiliations with 87 percent of Conservative supporters, 86 percent of Liberal supporters, and 93 percent of NDP supporters expressing apprehension about the state of the market.
