Ottawa’s Plan to Meet NATO Spending Target Kept Under Wraps for Now

Canada announced at the latest NATO summit in July it would be meeting the alliance’s military spending target by 2032, but Ottawa now says the plan to do so cannot yet be shared publicly.

After Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made the commitment on July 11, the Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO) requested figures from the Department of National Defence (DND).

They don’t have a plan.

FORSETH: Carbon Tax Carney won’t solve Liberal woes

So, Mark Carney is supposed to fix the economic image of the Liberals. Justin Trudeau’s economics is a failure and has hurt Canada. Jagmeet Singh’s socialism is worse, for it is the proven recipe for national poverty.

Carney has financial credentials. What would he say about economic policy? He could suggest that the Liberals adopt the Conservative economic plan.

The “choice” is how far to kick that boot up Trudeau’s butt

While voters may have tired of him, Trudeau looks forward to a ‘choice’ election

Standing by the docks in downtown Nanaimo, B.C., on Monday morning, Liberal MP Alexandre Mendes told Radio-Canada she came to this week’s Liberal caucus retreat with a message from her constituents: “dozens and dozens” of them were “adamant” the Liberal Party needed a new leader.

Speaking later to CBC’s Power & Politics, Mendes said it was hard to pinpoint a specific reason or issue to explain her constituents’ feelings for the prime minister.

“It’s a very generalized … ‘we’re tired of his face’ kind of thing,” she explained.

It goes far beyond being tired of his smug face.

U.S. border patrol reports record number of encounters with illegal alien invaders from Canada

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says it recorded a record-high number of encounters with migrants between border posts on the Canada-U.S. border between October 2023 and July of this year.

It’s a pattern experts say could be a problem for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government as the question of illegal immigration heats up in a close-fought U.S. election.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) records an “encounter” in its database when it comes across someone who is inadmissable to the U.S., or when border patrol officers find someone who has illegally crossed the border into the U.S. between border posts.

Canadians Support Reduced Temporary Foreign Worker Program: Poll

Canadians support a scale-back of Ottawa’s temporary foreign worker program as concerns about housing and employment opportunities continue to grow, new polling data indicates.

Forty-three percent of Canadians said they support the federal government’s move to reduce the number of temporary foreign workers in the country, a survey from Angus Reid found. While 14 percent of those polled said they were happy with the program as-is, 22 percent said the program should be discontinued in its entirety.

Trudeau’s Canada is getting poorer when compared to its wealthy peers, data shows

Canada is among the richest countries in the world — but when compared to peer countries like Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, it isn’t as rich as it once was.

And the wealth gap between Canada and the U.S. has only grown wider, according to figures published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Canada’s relatively weak economic growth, combined with a population boom, has hit its standing among wealthy countries.

Just what we need another WEF grifter.

Breakup of the Liberal, NDP coalition is a reminder what a colossal mess the government has left the economy

The announcement that the New Democratic Party is splintering from its coalition with the Liberals served as a reminder of what a colossal mess the government has left the national economy. The imbalances are shocking and numerous.

CBC Caught Pimping Trudeau’s Mass Immigration Scam

CBC ombudsman slams host for immigration comments on broadcast

CBC Ombudsman Jack Nagler has criticized radio host Ian Hanomansing for expressing what was perceived as a value judgment on immigration during a 2023 episode of Cross Country Checkup.

Blacklock’s Reporter says in the episode, Hanomansing made statements that implied strong support for increased immigration, which some listeners found unbalanced, prompting a review by the ombudsman.

Carson Jerema: Does Mélanie Joly know she works for Hamas?

Frere Jacques Frere Jacques Dormez Vous …

Justin Trudeau’s Liberals might imagine themselves as taking a balanced view of Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza, but again and again, the government sides with the terrorist thugs who started the fighting. Since Hamas killed, unprovoked, close to 1,200 people, mostly civilians, in Israel on October 7, Trudeau has said repeatedly that Canada supports the Jewish state’s “right to defend itself.” But such words are clearly a lie, because the only right the government is standing up for is the right for Hamas to manipulate the West into turning against a democratic ally.

Trudeau’s Canada: The Share of Households Struggling To Make Ends Meet Jumps 50%

Shack for rent

The struggle is real, according to nearly a third of Canadian households. This morning Statistics Canada (Stat Can) released the 2022 Canadian Housing Survey, a bi-annual window into the cost of living across the country. The latest findings reveal that both renters and homeowners are increasingly struggling. Renters were most likely to report financial difficulty, but homeowners aren’t faring well either. It’s not just mortgage costs, as the fastest-growing demographic experiencing financial difficulty was mortgage-free homeowners.

Pro-Palestinian activists charged with criminally harassing Immigration Minister Marc Miller

Three pro-Palestinian activists were arrested and charged with criminally harassing Marc Miller, a Montreal MP and the federal immigration minister, prompting a group of protesters to rally at the Montreal courthouse to denounce the arrests as a violation of the right to freedom of expression.

Samar Alkhdour is one of those activists.

One of those situations where you want both to lose.

Michael Higgins: The Carney-Trudeau political romance will likely end in tears

Ignatieff but without the charm.

The courtship by Justin Trudeau of financial guru Mark Carney is finally seeing them in a political embrace.

The union, however, can be expected to end in tears as it has for other smart, competent and principled people. Such people tend to threaten the prime minister and it does not do to bruise Trudeau’s ego.

Justin Trudeau’s flock is abandoning its shepherd

Oct. 22, 1844, was known as the Great Disappointment to followers of William Miller, an American preacher who promised the second coming of Jesus Christ would come on that day. (That was, in fact, the revised date, after his previous prophecy forgot to adjust for the transition from BC to AD.) When Jesus did not end up making his earthly return, Millerites, as they came to be known, were bitterly dismayed, and many immediately left the flock. Some broke off to form their own Adventist groups with separate beliefs about Christ’s return, but Millerism itself was over (even if Miller remained steadfast in his prophecies until his death in 1849).

The lesson: when a movement can’t hang onto its most ardent followers, it is as good as done.
