‘I never thought this would happen in France’: day one of showing Covid vaccine pass

There are teething troubles on day one of France’s controversial health pass for accessing public places. Outside Montpellier’s main art gallery, the Musée Fabre, a security guard squints at a visitor’s smartphone. “I can’t see your pass,” he says. The visitor tries shielding it from the severe Mediterranean sun: “I don’t see anything either. I can’t even see whether my phone’s unlocked or not.”

From Wednesday, showing either a health pass, or proof of a negative PCR test dated to within 48 hours, is obligatory in France for anyone wishing to access any cultural or leisure facilities with a capacity of more than 50 people. This includes cinemas, art galleries, libraries, museums, sports centres and work-related events. Cafes, restaurants and trains will fall under the measures at the beginning of August.

Sen. Rand Paul Goes After Fauci: Has Self-Interest in Hiding Any Responsibility for ‘Anything Done in the Wuhan Lab’

As most people know by now Senator Rand Paul and Dr. Anthony Fauci got into a heated exchange yesterday in which Fauci called Rand Paul a “liar” for claiming the NIH funded gain of function experiments at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Paul then said he sent a letter to the DOJ asking for a criminal referral against Fauci for contempt of Congress.

The reaction to Fauci’s outburst and Paul’s subsequent referral to the DOJ is pretty much as you would expect. Mainstream media outlets praise Fauci for standing up to Paul, while conservative news outlets express outrage that Fauci would call a sitting US Senator who was also a medical doctor a “liar.”

Thomas Renz, an Ohio-based attorney, said at a conference in California last weekend that he is filing a federal lawsuit on behalf of a whistleblower from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) who is claiming there are at least 45,000 deaths from one of multiple reporting systems that report to the Vaccine Adverse Effect Reporting System (VAERS), which is maintained by the CDC.

A database of local businesses in Ontario that had clear vaccine policies and chose to make public the vaccination status about their staff has been shut down after the businesses were flooded with hateful responses and negative reviews online.

John Robson: Another COVID lockdown would be devastating, but we all know it is coming

Thank goodness the COVID lockdowns are over. Now we can get back to normal life which, unfortunately, increasingly means ending one lockdown and launching another. Enthusiasm is already building among the usual suspects. So to prevent mass death and promote human flourishing, can we take this moment of relative calm to outline a systematic approach?

I have no doubt they’ll try.

The differing views raise questions about how easily Canadians who mixed and matched will be able to cross into the U.S. once it reopens its land borders

Looks like Canadians will evolve into Pariahs.

U.S. border restrictions for Canada, Mexico renewed until Aug. 21

U.S. land borders with Canada and Mexico will remain closed to non-essential travel until at least Aug. 21, the U.S. Homeland Security Department said on Wednesday.

The 30-day extension came after Canada announced Monday it will start allowing fully-vaccinated U.S. visitors into the country on Aug. 9 for non-essential travel as the threat from the COVID-19 pandemic fades.

I bet they think as much of Justin as we do.

Inflated Reporting of COVID Deaths Is a Real Conspiracy

In the early months of 2020, many mainstream news media laughingly called concerns that there were more deaths reported from COVID than could be attributed to the disease a “death toll conspiracy”1 they said was led by conservative Republicans and “anti-vaxxers.”2 Yet, a few short months later, data confirm what many already knew: The number of people who died “from” COVID-19 were not the same as those who died “with” COVID-19.

Vaccine passports are an unnecessary infringement on civil liberties

As Canada begins to reopen, calls for domestic vaccine passports have been growing louder. Yet they are not a necessary, or justifiable, part of Canada’s reopening plan, as they create significant concerns around privacy and civil liberties. Vaccine passports should be resisted.
