National Guard descends on Chicago as two top Trump officials fly in

National Guard troops have begun arriving in Chicago after President Trump compared Democrats to “insurrectionists” and promised the deployment of soldiers from Texas would “straighten out” crime in the city.

About half of the 200 troops expected to be deployed from the Texas National Guard had landed in Chicago on Monday night with the remainder expected to arrive by the end of Tuesday evening.

Far-left professor Eman Abdelhadi charged with violent felonies after Chicago ICE facility riots

A far-left University of Chicago professor has been arrested and charged with violent felonies following riots at an ICE facility in the city, law enforcement has said.

Eman Abdelhadi, an Associate Professor of the university’s Department of Comparative Human Development, was arrested on Friday and charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a government employee, a Class 3 felony; and two counts of resisting/obstruction peace, a Class A misdemeanor, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News.

Chicago Police Given Disturbing New Order About Border Patrol Agents

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin says Chicago law enforcement officers received orders not to render aid to Border Patrol agents over the weekend as agents faced angry crowds. Melugin posted the report on X.

“Chicago police officers were instructed by their Chief of Patrol to NOT respond to Border Patrol agents’ call for help yesterday after they were reportedly surrounded by a large crowd of protesters following a ramming incident & shooting of an armed woman,” Melugin wrote.

Increasing number of Americans say violence may be needed to get U.S. ‘back on track’: poll

While a majority of U.S. citizens continue to maintain that violence won’t help fix the problems facing their nation, an increasing minority are beginning to disagree, according to a new poll.

A Marist Institute of Public Opinion poll of 1,477 adults conducted in partnership with NPR and PBS News last week found that three in 10 of those agreed (19 per cent) or strongly agreed (11 per cent) with the notion that “Americans may have to resort to violence in order to get the country back on track.”

Dire warnings may be overstated, but they identify deeply disturbing trends.

The Brussels Horizon Podcast aired an episode in April titled “The Coming ‘Civil War’ with David Betz.” A widely published Professor of War at King’s College London, Betz warns of the retribalization of Western societies. Mass migration and elite overreach, he argues, have created powder kegs of discontent awaiting the next spark of outrage: a horrific knifing or car-ramming or perhaps an exceptionally unjust judicial ruling. Citing multiple scholarly studies, Betz makes the case that the chances of civil war in the West erupting within the next five years—beginning with civil disturbances comparable with old-style peasant revolts—exceed 50 percent.
