Sloan: The Great Purge Has Begun

When I was ejected from the Conservative caucus, I made it clear the controversy wasn’t just about me, but about silencing the many thousands of voices like mine within the party, and in society.

They want people like me to vote and donate to the party, but otherwise to sit down and shut-up. It’s why the party got so upset when I started encouraging my followers to attend the upcoming Conservative Convention. They are scared that strong Conservatives will actually take action against the Red-Tory, Liberal-lite leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada.

Federal Conservatives revoke memberships of anti-lockdown pastor and son

The Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) has decided to kick out a controversial anti-lockdown pastor from Aylmer, Ontario and his son.

Pastor Henry Hildebrandt and his son Herbert Hildebrandt have recently made national news for participating in anti-lockdown protests and leading church services contrary to coronavirus restrictions.

According to Herbert Hildebrandt, both his father’s and his membership were revoked by the party without explanation.

O’Toole Can’t Win by Trying to Out-Liberal the Liberals

As if suffering under the worst pandemic crisis seen in generations wasn’t enough, it’s becoming a foregone conclusion that Canadians will also have to endure a federal election in 2021.

As recently proven in British Columbia and Saskatchewan, elections during the pandemic serve the party in power well. The Trudeau Liberals see a path to the majority government that they so desperately crave, and Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole’s insipid strategy will ensure that the Liberals get their wish.

U of C’s Cooper says O’Toole can’t defeat Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Barry Cooper, professor of political science at the University of Calgary, openly doubts Erin O’Toole can lead his party to victory in the next federal election.

“Despite the difficulties that Prime Minister is in, with just about everything he touches turns to mud, nobody seems to be thinking that ‘what’s his name, I’ll remember the next day, the Conservative leader is a suitable replacement,’” Cooper said in an interview with the Western Standard.

“He’s not a particularly photogenic or appealing individual and then when he adds these policies that make him look like a Liberal, people would quite properly ask ‘Why would I vote for him?’”

Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole defends Sloan hypocrisy

Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole defends decision to back, then oust, Sloan

OTTAWA — Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole says he was once willing to give his former leadership rival Derek Sloan the benefit of the doubt, but no longer.

And he dismissed the idea that kicking Sloan out of caucus this week has pitted him against one of the party’s most powerful wings, social conservatives, whose support O’Toole courted directly during the leadership race last year in part by backing Sloan at the time.
