“Deep State”

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced Friday that she is cracking down on leaks coming from inside the intelligence community to left-wing media organizations.

Gabbard declared on X that “politically motivated” leaks by intelligence officials will come to an end and listed several examples of unauthorized leaks to news outlets.

On Monday, you might have noticed that X, which has become our national online town hall, went down. It was exceedingly wonky most of the morning before returning to normal function in the afternoon.

Why? A cyberattack.

On “The Interview” segment for Thursday’s CBS Evening News Plus (and, yes, this is now a thing), anchor John Dickerson brought in International Rescue Committee CEO and former Labour Party U.K. politician David Miliband to keep alive the belief that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Elon Musk and President Trump will “imperil millions” with people “starving” and lacking “medicines.”

The fundraising platform is suspected of identity theft, credit card fraud, and various other financial crimes.

Before the recent election, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability asked then-Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to turn over all Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) relating to ActBlue — not much happened. An SAR is a document that banks file with the Treasury Department pursuant to potentially fraudulent or illicit financial activity. Yellen stalled, presumably in the hope that the Democrats would win the House back in November and halt the investigation. That obviously didn’t happen and the new Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, is of course cooperating with the committee.

Washington — Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Monday the Trump administration had finished its six-week purge of programs of the six-decade-old U.S. Agency for International Development, and said he would move the 18% of aid and development programs that survived under the State Department.

Rubio made the announcement in a post on X. It marked one of his relatively few public comments on what has been a historic shift away from U.S. foreign aid and development, executed by Trump political appointees at State and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency teams.

Workers at the U.S. African Development Foundation, a self-described independent agency, refused to let into its building the agency’s new acting director on Wednesday.

So much for the peaceful transition of power.

The agency has 55 employees and an annual budget of $45 million. USADF has been around longer than Fauci and it is just as useless and full of itself.

While Americans celebrate DOGE eliminating wasteful government spending, the benefits from eliminating this waste far exceed the dollar amounts found. As the National Debt Clock ticks off the savings from DOGE, it is important to keep in mind that even bigger losses are being eradicated. To focus only on direct dollar savings is to miss the much bigger picture.

Whatever USAID was or wasn’t meant to be when President John F. Kennedy created the program by executive order in 1961, it effectively is no more.

Wall Street Mav reported on Sunday that the White House intends to “eliminate roughly $60 billion in foreign aid spending and terminate 92% of grants issued by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).”

On his Fox News show “Life, Liberty, and Levin,” Mark Levin had a compelling discussion with Attorney General Pam Bondi about one of the most scandalous yet suspiciously opaque cases in modern history—the Jeffrey Epstein files. Last week, many anticipated bombshell revelations exposing high-profile figures linked to criminal activity on Epstein’s private island. Instead, what we got was a rehash of information already widely known.

So, why is this happening and when are we going to see the new stuff?

The ever-mounting hysteria over Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) seems to largely be coming from that large sector of Americans who work for, or in other ways feed from, Washington’s seemingly bottomless trough. As government employment and spending have cascaded in recent years, this has created not so much a ‘deep state’, as the right-wing paranoids suspect, but a huge and expanding protected class of people who are anxious to defend their livelihoods.

Who will possibly castrate people in India (and around the world) without USAID funds?
