Asian Americans are buying guns in record numbers. What’s caused this surge?

More than 5 million people became first-time owners during the pandemic as gun sales to the community rose by about 43%

Vivian Moon, a real estate agent and artist, had never felt particularly afraid as a woman living alone in Buena Park, a small California city outside Los Angeles. But when violent attacks against Asian women and seniors increased across the US early last year, she became disillusioned with the police’s ability – and willingness – to protect people who looked like her.

So, like many other Americans of Asian descent, she decided to buy a gun. “I realized I have to take ownership of how I want to live my life,” said Moon, 33.

In the year since, Moon said she’s made an effort to reach out and teach her friends, many of whom are women of color, about gun safety. As a Korean woman who grew up in the 1990s, Moon is also inspired by the legacy of the Los Angeles uprising and the armed Korean immigrants who defended their businesses on rooftops when riots broke out in South Central. “Back then Korean Americans took a stand and took their safety into their own hands,” she said.

GUNTER: More stats showing Canada doesn’t have gun crime problem

I’m going to throw a lot of statistics at you in this column, but my purpose is simple: To show that Canada does not have a gun crime problem, at least not one that would warrant the kind of draconian gun controls the Trudeau government has brought in during the past two years, and is still bringing in.

JIVANI: Trudeau’s gun-crime policies lack required focus

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau seems confused about how to fight violent crime. One day he wants to appear tough on crime by banning handguns. The next day he is reducing penalties for gun crimes. He’ll call himself a progressive politician and in the same breath confesses to being the leader of a supposedly racist justice system.

Trudeau’s cynical gun ban games continue

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is using undemocratic tools to circumvent Parliament as he continues his hunt for firearms that aren’t hurting anybody.

Back in May, the Liberal government tabled legislation that would have halted the importation, purchase, sale and transfer of handguns in Canada.

The law didn’t pass when Parliament began its summer break. But it remains in the legislative process and will be debated again and voted on once MPs return in the fall.

It’s clear to most Canadians by now that to the degree we have a firearms problem in Canada, it is not caused by legal firearms. They play a negligible role in gun crimes in this country.

The problem is firearms imported illegally into Canada. Everyone knows that.

Trudeau’s Gun Confiscation Mimics Fascist Policies Of 20th Century

In the years following World War I, the Weimar Republic passed strict gun control laws in an attempt to comply with the Versailles Treaty of 1919 – laws that required the surrender of all guns to government.

“The laws remained in effect until 1928, when the German parliament relaxed gun restrictions and put into effect a strict firearm-licensing scheme. These licensing regulations foreshadowed Adolph Hitler’s rise to power.”

In her 2011 book, Professor of Criminal Justice Dyan McGuire wrote that “it is frequently argued that these laws, which resulted in the confiscation of weapons not belonging to supporters of the Nazis, rendered disfavoured groups like the Gypsies, Jews, homosexuals, Poles, and their potential allies defenseless.”

Trained, Armed and Ready. To Teach Kindergarten.

More school employees are carrying guns to defend against school shootings. In Ohio, a contentious new law requires no more than 24 hours of training.

RITTMAN, Ohio — Mandi, a kindergarten teacher in Ohio, had already done what she could to secure her classroom against a gunman.

She positioned a bookcase by the doorway, in case she needed a barricade. In an orange bucket, she kept district-issued emergency supplies: wasp spray, to aim at an attacker, and a tube sock, to hold a heavy object and hurl at an assailant.

But after 19 children and two teachers were killed in Uvalde, Texas, she felt a growing desperation. Her school is in an older building, with no automatic locks on classroom doors and no police officer on campus.

Proposed Liberal Firearm Buyback Program Gives Criminals a ‘Free Pass,’ Say Conservatives

The Liberal government’s proposed firearms buyback program will benefit criminals and punish law-abiding gun owners, the Conservative Party says.

In May, the government said it will introduce a mandatory firearms buyback program, paired with new legislation proposed in Bill C-21, that will tighten gun restrictions announced in 2020 that banned over 1,500 types of “assault-style” firearms.

A shocking video shows how racialized America has become

I have no idea where the video came from, but I think it’s worth noting because it seems to show that the Democrat party has so successfully racialized America in the last 15 years or so that we are beginning to live out Charles Manson’s “Helter Skelter” madness. Manson’s dream was to destroy society, so it’s up to us to recognize what’s going on and fight back against this almost apocalyptic racial division.
