Terry Glavin: We’re not Los Angeles yet, but it might be coming

Despite Carney’s vow to scale back immigration, the numbers keep going up — not counting those living here illegally

After several days of riots and rabble-rousing in response to the Trump administration’s ham-fisted determination to round up illegal immigrants, downtown Los Angeles was placed under curfew on Tuesday. The disorder has spread to more than a dozen American cities. There have been scores of arrests.

It has all made for great television and amusing political theatre, with Democrats shouting righteously about the rule of law and due process while ignoring their own support for “sanctuary” laws that undermine their own government’s capacity to enforce federal immigration legislation. Not to be outdone, Donald Trump’s Republicans have invoked the 18th-century Alien Enemies Act to back their plans for mass deportations. The 1798 law was about pirates.

Britain could be heading towards civil war

I used to dismiss fears Britain was headed for open sectarian conflict, possibly even civil war, as overblown. Those expressing such unease were, I suspected, succumbing to their own subconscious cognitive bias and exaggerating the scale of the problem.

After all, does the UK really have the ingredients for such internal strife? We live in an inefficient and messed up society, but not a “failed” one. Taxes are paid, people who want to be are employed, we have abundant food, clothing and energy – at least until Ed Miliband’s climate fanaticism catches up with us. We don’t have America’s gun problem, even if gang violence has become a feature of British life. We have, relative to other developed nations, successfully integrated migrants in large numbers.

Anthony Koch: The commodification of citizenship and the downfall of western civilization

The West has committed a grave philosophical error: we have come to view countries not as civilizations but as corporations, and citizenship not as a sacred bond but as a kind of customer loyalty program.

Nowhere is this more evident than in Canada, where national identity has been hollowed out and replaced with an abstract collection of economic indicators and talking points: growth is good, immigration is GDP, diversity is strength. The country, we are told, is “open for business,” but rarely do we hear what that business is for.

Anti-migrant riots erupt in Northern Ireland after alleged sexual assault

Fifteen police officers were injured and four houses set alight in anti-migrant riots after two teenagers, thought to be Romanian, were charged with the sexual assault of a girl in Northern Ireland.

Two 14-year-old boys appeared at a local court by video link on Monday, charged with attempted rape. The charges were read to them by a Romanian interpreter.

Violence erupted in Ballymena, County Antrim, on Monday night after a peaceful vigil by hundreds of people had been held in the town centre.

Sabrina Maddeaux: The U.K. Labour Party is finally doing something on immigration. Why can’t Canada?

Across the Atlantic, an unlikely beacon of hope has emerged for correcting Western immigration excesses: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who leads the U.K.’s centre-left Labour Party. This May, he announced sweeping new rules that should set a new standard for serious immigration reform regardless of political ideology.

In Canada, though most politicians will now admit we’ve massively messed up the immigration file, their vision for fixing the problem lacks clarity and sufficient ambition. Canadian leaders would be wise to take inspiration from Starmer’s immigration overhaul for an urgent made-in-Canada reset.

There’s a reason Muslims own our streets.

Their votes certainly count.

But there’s more.

Canada is run by criminals.

Our elites deliberately imported incompatible cultures as a divide and conquer tactic to ease the way for their mass immigration scam.

They criminalized citizens labeling them Racists and Islamophobes for objecting to having their country stolen from them.

This was done so our political class and our corporate class could exploit for personal gain the shortages created by the chaos of mass immigration.

The elites know they are guilty of a heinous crime.

The Jewish community is just collateral damage, an easy sacrifice to keep the Muslims and their useful idiots onside.

The elites will use the Mohammedans as their thugs while the Great Replacement continues apace.

Your replacement.

Politicians have their heads in the sand about immigration’s irreversible damages

A new report published by the Centre for Heterodox Social Science has underscored the reality of significant demographic change in modern Britain. Authored by Matthew Goodwin, the research projects that the white-British ethnic majority will become a minority within the next four decades and could fall as low as a third of the UK’s population by the end of the century.

By 2100, the analysis predicts that three in five people will be non-white. Currently standing in the region of seven per cent, the Muslim proportion of the UK’s population could increase to eleven percent by 2050 and as high as one-fifth of it by the 22nd century.

Remember folks! The Great Replacement is just a right wing conspiracy theory!

Michael Bonner: It’s time to totally overhaul Canada’s immigration system

So many people want to immigrate to Canada that we can hardly accommodate them all. Our big cities feel cramped, social services are strained, and homeownership is increasingly out of reach for those below the age of 40.

But perhaps the surest proof of too many newcomers is this: 18 percent of all immigrants leave Canada within 25 years and don’t return. Surprisingly, half of those who leave are economic immigrants who were selected because they had skills that our country needs and because they had secured high-wage jobs before arriving here. This phenomenon was analyzed in a 2024 study by the Conference Board of Canada called “The Leaky Bucket.” The study concluded that so many immigrants leave because they have not formed a permanent economic or cultural attachment to Canada, they find better opportunities elsewhere, and the number of annual departures is growing.

THOMAS: Hopes of solving housing crisis fade as 817,000 immigrants arrive in Canada

It’s obvious the federal Liberals are not serious about solving Canada’s housing crisis.

Liberals embrace ‘governing-by-crisis’.

A crisis is a great way to get Canadians to pay attention to the Liberals’ policies and platforms. Once they have the attention of the electorate, they make massive promises to attack the ‘crisis’ with every weapon they can find, which usually is pissing away taxpayers’ dollars on ineffective programs.

The only thing Carney and his crony Mark Wiseman are interested in is turning Canada into a 3rd World Shithole state from which they will both profit handsomely.

Quebec passes bill requiring immigrants to adopt shared values

The Quebec legislature has passed a bill requiring immigrants to embrace the common culture of the province.

Newcomers to the province must adhere to shared values including gender equality, secularism and protection of the French language.

The law is Quebec’s answer to the Canadian model of multiculturalism that promotes cultural diversity.

Michael Bonner: We need an immigration policy that will serve all Canadians

Canadians deserve an immigration system that serves the national interest. This is exactly what we once had when most Canadians agreed with the economic and cultural arguments in favour of immigration.

For a long time, Canada avoided the sort of backlash seen in many places abroad. But the economic argument for immigration has collapsed during a time of stagnant wages, housing shortages and high youth unemployment. Likewise, cultural arguments about diversity and multiculturalism have given way to doubts about our ability to integrate newcomers.

Canadian youth hammered by vanishing summer job market thanks to abuse of Temporary Foreign Workers Program by Liberal Party cronies

Canada’s youth are staring down the worst summer jobs market in two decades; the latest sign of a Canadian economy whose shortcomings are disproportionately hammering the young.

According to new data published by the job site Indeed, summer job listings are down 22 per cent as compared to this time last year.

What the data show about the state of immigration in Canada since cuts were announced … The Liberal Government Is Not Serious About Reducing Mass Immigration

A new analysis of immigration data released by the federal government reveals that while the number of new permanent residents dropped after the federal government announced that it would cut immigration levels, the number of temporary foreign workers actually increased, while other temporary permits declined.

Last October, the federal government under then prime minister Justin Trudeau announced it would reduce its permanent immigration targets from 500,000 down to 395,000 in 2025. The government also set a cap for the first time on the intake of temporary residents in both student and worker streams, at 673,650 temporary resident visas for 2025.

It’s all bullshit. You’re children will never own a home and your city will be a 3rd World dumpster like the GTA.

In briefing to minister, RCMP warns of 488% jump in terrorism charges

The number of terrorism charges laid in Canada jumped 488 per cent last year amid rising youth radicalization, the RCMP wrote to the public safety minister.

The RCMP’s ministerial briefing binder, posted on a government website this week, said violent extremism remained “a prominent national security threat.”

“Canadian police have foiled six terrorist plots in the last 12 months alone, with arrests spanning from Edmonton to Ottawa to Toronto,” the briefing said.
