Friendship between nations is based on shared values and mutual interests. But a friend that fails to show up when it matters is no friend at all.

This is the situation that the United States finds itself in with the Trudeau government in Canada. In March 2023, President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met in Ottawa and issued a joint statement in which they stated that both leaders’ “highest priority is to protect our citizens and our sovereign territory.” They named specific areas of cooperation, such as in combating violent extremism and cybersecurity.

Twin bomb blasts near Iran general Qasem Soleimani’s tomb kill 73 – state TV

At least 73 people have been killed by two bomb explosions near the tomb of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani on the fourth anniversary of his assassination by the US, Iran’s state media report.

State broadcaster Irib said another 171 people were wounded when the blasts hit a procession near the Saheb al-Zaman mosque in the southern city of Kerman.

It cited Kerman’s deputy governor as saying it was a “terrorist attack”.

A video circulated online appeared to show several bodies on a road.

Iran hangs child bride for murdering husband despite UK pressure

Iran has hanged a woman convicted of murdering her husband, whom she married while still a child, defying British pressure for her to be pardoned.

Samira Sabzian, who had been in prison for the past decade, was executed at dawn on Wednesday in Ghezel Hesar prison in the Tehran satellite city of Karaj, the Norway-based Iran Human Rights (IHR) group said.

Iran says it has executed Mossad agent accused of spying for Israel

An agent of the Mossad, Israel’s intelligence service, has been executed in Iran, the official Irna news agency reported.

“This person communicated with foreign services, specifically [the] Mossad, collecting classified information, and with participation with associates, provided documents to foreign services, including the Mossad,” it said.

It did not name the person.

US Lawmakers Push Canada To Designate Iranian Guard Corps as Terrorist Group

A bipartisan coalition in Congress is pressuring Canada to designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, with the lawmakers warning that “neither engagement nor concessions will change” Tehran’s appetite for destruction.

“By officially designating the IRGC as a foreign terrorist organization, Canada can join the United States in once again contributing to the global fight against terrorism, demonstrating a strong commitment to ensuring peace and stability,” the group of 14 House lawmakers wrote in a letter sent Wednesday to Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau and obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. “It is vital that Canada recognizes the threat posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran and takes all appropriate steps to address it.”

Trudeau is as stupid as he is dangerous.

Senior Iranian official caught in Toronto

Canada has launched a deportation case against a senior Iranian government official found living in Toronto, Global News has learned.

Seyed Salman Samani, 42, is facing a deportation hearing under sanctions imposed a year ago against members of Iran’s hardline regime.

The Canada Border Services Agency has asked the Immigration and Refugee Board to hold a hearing for Samani that could result in his removal.

Dozens of Iranian regime officials denied entry to Canada, says border agency

The Canada Border Services Agency has denied entry to dozens of senior Iranian regime officials and is investigating about 100 people with status in Canada for potential ties to Tehran.

The agency also has referred the cases of nine individuals with status in Canada to the Immigration and Refugee Board to determine their admissibility to Canada.

The denials at the border and the investigations stem from a measure the Liberal government adopted last year in the midst of widespread protests in Iran over the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish-Iranian woman. Amini died while in the custody of Iran’s “morality police.”
