Why Some of Trump’s Muslim ‘Allies’ Fear a Loss of Iran More Than They Fear Iran

US President Donald J. Trump’s Gulf Arab allies, according to the New York Times, oppose an American strike on Iran primarily out of fear of regional instability and the possible damage to economies, tourism, and domestic security.

While this explanation may sound credible on the surface, a deeper and far more uncomfortable reality is that for several of these regimes, the real danger is not Iran’s collapse, but an ideological exposure that could follow decisive American action, as well as concern about Israel becoming more prominent in the region.

When Tyrants Beg for Talks: The Danger of Empowering Iran’s Soul Crushing Murder Factory Once Again

Iran’s rulers, now that they are on their knees, apparently want to “talk.” Iranian officials, including the foreign minister, have signaled openness to negotiating a new nuclear deal — not from “moderation” or a genuine change in behavior. The plea from Iran’s regime is clearly a last-ditch effort to hold on to power so the mullahs can keep on torturing, slaughtering and putting out the eyes of their citizens.

The regime is searching for a way out. This moment, therefore, is not one for misplaced diplomatic optimism that the mullahs are now prepared to stop building nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles that can reach the United States, or to stop brutalizing innocent Iranians. The regime, which rules by terror, is evidently still hoping to rule the rest of the world by terror, too.

Latest alleged Iranian regime official found in Canada wants his identity hidden

A suspected high-ranking Iranian official caught living in Canada appeared at his deportation hearing on Thursday as the regime he is accused of serving faced growing condemnation for killing protesters.

How Iran plans to go to war with the US – and win

Iran has revealed its vision for war with the United States, detailing how it would overcome the world’s most powerful military and hold the global economy to ransom.

In a detailed battle plan published by Tasnim, the news agency affiliated to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC), Iran’s leadership envisages strikes on US bases, new fronts opened up by proxy allies, cyber warfare and the paralysis of the global oil trade. Middle Eastern geography would win out against American technology, Iran insists.

Activists Urge RCMP to Solicit Evidence of Canadians Involved in Iran Atrocities

Human rights activists say the RCMP should collect reports from members of the public on possible major crimes committed by Canadians on behalf of the Iranian regime.

The Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights wants a “structural investigation” which would see the RCMP assemble evidence of Canadian residents taking part in war crimes and atrocities, or being victims of them, to prepare for future prosecutions.

Michael Bonner: Iran’s regime is a threat to Canada. Many of its officials are already here

We don’t yet know how the repressive and murderous Islamic Republic of Iran will fall, or when. After the recent uprising and the regime’s bloody response, the most likely outcome may well be some form of military junta arising from the conventional armed forces. A worse outcome would be a coup by the more ideological Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) or Basij voluntary militia.

Trump says Iran ‘talking to’ US and hints at deal to avoid military strikes

Donald Trump has said Iran is “talking to” the US and hinted at a deal to avoid the use of military strikes.

“[Iran is] talking to us, and we’ll see if we can do something, otherwise we’ll see what happens … We have a big fleet heading out there,” he told Fox News. “They are negotiating.”

Trump added that US allies in the region were not being told of plans for possible strikes due to security reasons. He has threatened to intervene in Iran in the wake of a deadly crackdown on anti-government protests.

Israel eyes regime change in Iran – and is counting on Trump to make it happen

Amid the din of global speculation over US military build-up in the Middle East, Israel’s leaders have remained unusually silent.

Aside from some remarks in support of Iran’s anti-government protests this month, Israel’s prime minister has had little to say publicly about his superpower ally taking on his biggest enemy. His government has remained equally silent.

“It shows you the importance Netanyahu puts on this moment,” said Danny Citrinowicz, who served for 25 years in Israel’s Defence Intelligence, and is now senior Iran researcher at Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies.

EU classifies Iran’s IRGC as terrorists over slaughter of protesters

The European Union has blacklisted Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as terrorists over the bloody suppression of anti-government protests, putting pressure on Sir Keir Starmer to act.

France swung its weight behind the proposal on Wednesday night after similar calls from Germany, Italy and Spain.

“If you act as a terrorist, you should also be treated as terrorists,” said Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign affairs chief, adding that the classification puts them “on the same footing” as al-Qaeda, Hamas and Islamic State.

Iran has ‘fingers on the trigger’ as standoff with US intensifies

Iran has its “fingers on the trigger” and is ready to respond to another attack from the United States, the regime’s foreign minister has warned, in an escalation of the standoff between the two countries.

The threat came after President Trump declared that Tehran must abandon its nuclear programme or face a “far worse” attack than the strike on its uranium enrichment facilities in June last year.

She was reportedly shot twice with live ammunition around midnight, and her body was returned to her family two days later, the Hyrcani Human Rights group reported.

The Beginning of the End for the Mullahs

Never in its forty-six-year history, thanks to the Trump administration and Israel, has the Iranian regime been weaker. Never, since Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, has the clerical system faced such a convergence of internal rebellion, economic collapse, military vulnerability, and psychological defeat. Never have the mullahs appeared so exposed and so afraid of their own population. This historic weakening is the outcome of sustained pressure and — above all — the courage of the Iranian people, who have risen against a system that has ruled them for generations through prisons and executions.

Maduro 2.0: What happens if the US removes Iran’s Ayatollah?

Donald Trump is sending an “armada” to the Middle East. The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and its strike group are due to arrive in the Arabian Sea in the coming days. American fighter jets usually based in Britain have landed in Jordan. And anti-missile defence systems are already in the Gulf.

None of this proves Donald Trump is preparing for war with the Islamic Republic, but it is exactly what he would do if he were. And while we are not privy to his specific battle plans, the similarities with last year’s build-up off Venezuela are impossible to ignore.
