Spanish Police Arrest Over a Dozen Would-Be Jihadists

After months of investigation and surveillance, Spanish police made 13 arrests this week in one of the largest anti-terror operations in recent years.

On Tuesday, Spanish National Police, working with their Moroccan counterparts, dismantled a terror recruitment cell by arresting nine in the North African exclave of Melilla and another person in the city of Nador, just across the Moroccan border, El Mundo reports.

The General Directorate for the Surveillance of Moroccan Territory (DGSN) said that the suspects were attempting to recruit new jihadists. Among those arrested was one suspect who is believed to be a member of a terrorist group operating in the African Sahel region.

‘Deepening unemployment crisis’ among Iraqi youth prompts $9.9M federal investment

Nearly $10 million in federal spending to support youth in Iraq will ultimately help Canada, International Development Minister Ahmed Hussen says, because the investment supports stability in the region overall.

“Our biggest focus in our Middle East strategy is Iraq … and the way Iraq goes is the way the rest of the region will go,” he said.

Since 2016, the federal government has spent $4.7 billion on its Middle East strategy, Hussen said. With that money, the government is tackling extremism but also building “post-conflict strategies,” he said.

Why are we sending Billions to a bunch of ME savages who hate us?

Cue interminable TV debates, column inches and twitterings about the rotten, racist heart of British society, sparked by one clumsy comment from an octogenarian woman who clearly didn’t mean much by it.

John Robson: Canadian police enabling antisemitic hate — someone’s going to get killed

Someone is going to get killed. It’s what happens when you abandon the rule of law. And as increasingly aggressive, openly antisemitic protests roil our cities, we now have video footage of a masked menace telling someone “I’ll put you six feet deep” in front of police officers who, after long sociological cogitation, declared it totally cool. And the “such things have no place in Canada” crowd seem to agree.

43% believe Islam to be a harmful presence to Canada … 49% of Christmas Ruining Cultists Believe Anti-Semitism To Be A Minor Problem

… Canadians who identified as Jewish were very likely to see antisemitism as a major problem (75 per cent). Of those who identified as Muslim, nearly half (48 per cent) perceived anti-Muslim discrimination as a serious issue. Half of Muslim respondents (49 per cent) identified antisemitism as a minor or non-existent issue while one in five Jewish respondents (19 per cent) classified Islamophobia as a minor or non-existent problem.

… “Views of religions were fairly static… with one notable exception,” the survey stated. “Canadians are now more likely to say Islam is damaging to Canadian society than they were in 2022. Now, more than two-in-five (43%) believe Islam to be a harmful presence to Canada, a figure triple the number who believe the religion to be a positive contributor.”

Rex Murphy: An antisemitic menace stalks Canada and Trudeau couldn’t care less

It is very hard, indeed it may be impossible, to disagree with the flood of online remarks asserting that the treatment of the pro-Hamas, anti-Israel protests differ rather troublingly from the treatment meted out to Canadian truckers.

I’m not aware that Tamara Lich at any point during the trucker’s sojourn in Ottawa, in full voice, and in direct proximity to police officers, gave vent to “I’ll kill you … I’ll put you six feet deep” to either a policeman or to a passerby. During the weeks of the Freedom Convoy protest, as far as I know, and equally as far as the authorities are aware, at no point did she express murderous intent, make explicit death threats, or act with grand insouciance while doing so in the presence of numerous police.

A total of 56 of the 98 total occurrences were classified by police as antisemitic, up from 18 during the same time period last year. Another 20 were categorized as anti-Muslim/Palestinian, up from just two during the same time period in 2022.

‘Hatred will have no space in our city’ because the TPS will continue to pretend it didn’t happen.

Muslims are not the victims.

Ottawa-based tech entrepreneur Maher Arar has been tweeting up a storm lately, with the bio, “I expose lies and deception through audio and video forensic analysis.” In practice, this has meant amplifying pro-Hamas narratives to his near 16,000 followers and openly attempting to minimize the Oct. 7 massacre.

Explosives charges laid against Ottawa minor accused of terrorism

An Ottawa youth charged with terrorism-related offences for allegedly targeting Jewish people last week faces three more charges, including two for being in possession or control of explosives.

When announcing the original two charges, the RCMP said the suspect is alleged to have instructed someone, directly or indirectly, to carry out a terrorist activity against “Jewish persons.”

Additionally, the youth is charged with “facilitation of a terrorist activity by communicating instructional material related to an explosive substance.”

Twenty years ago, the story that a bunch of teenaged French pupils had protested they were “shocked” by their teacher showing them a 1603 painting of five nude women would have caused hilarity across the country, not fear. “What are they complaining about?” would have been the universal guffaw. But the teachers at the Jacques Cartier secondary school in Issou, west of Paris, have known otherwise for years. The scenario that unfolded in a French literature classroom last week has happened many, many times across the country in the same kind of state sink schools. It has, in the last three years, led to two of their profession being murdered by pupils or friends of their pupils, abetted by many parents supposedly roused to outrage by some sort of infringement to strict religious “morals”.

Hate preacher Abu Hamza has urged US courts to grant his freedom so he can return to the UK, eight years after he was extradited on terrorism charges.

The hook-handed 65-year-old has applied to end his life sentence in the US immediately so he can make his return.

Hamza wishes to be sent back on compassionate grounds after submitting hundreds of pages of evidence to support his application.
