The vast majority of British Muslims identify with their religion over their nationality, a report has found.
A study conducted by the Institute for the Impact of Faith in Life (IIFL), based on survey data and interviews with 815 British Muslims, has found that over seven in ten (71 per cent) identify as Muslims first.
In contrast, just 27 per cent of British Muslims said they primarily identified as British, English, or Scottish.

There, the Christians were “tied up and decapitated with knives.” According to a regional expert,
“This was not just an act of terror. It was a targeted massacre of Christians, and it will not stop here… The ADF is part of a growing extremist network that wants to wipe out Christianity in the region. If nothing is done, more attacks will follow.”

British Hindu extremists are forming alliances with Far-Right groups over their ‘common hatred’ of Muslims, says a police intelligence report seen by the Mail on Sunday.
The study also claims that the extremists, who are aligned with India’s hardline prime minister Narendra Modi, are feared to be interfering in British elections by telling Hindus which parties to vote for and which to avoid.
The secret report, compiled by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), says Hindu extremism – which is known as Hindutva – may worsen community relationships between Hindus and other faith groups like Muslims and Sikhs.

The US secretary of defense Pete Hegseth has a tattoo that appears to read “infidel” or “non-believer” in Arabic, according to recently posted photos on his social media account.
In photos posted on Tuesday on X, the Fox News host turned US defense secretary had what appears to be a tattoo that says “kafir”, an Arabic term used within Islam to describe an unbeliever. Hegseth appears to have also had the tattoo in another Instagram photo posted in July 2024.
Some people on social media criticized Hegseth for getting a tattoo that could be considered offensive to Muslims, especially as the US military seeks to represent a diverse pool of faiths. It is estimated that upwards of 5,000 to 6,000 US military members practice Islam.
