A Pakistani man arrested in Quebec for an alleged plot to kill Jews in New York City has been transferred to a provincial detention centre in Montreal from Rimouski, Que.
Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, who appeared in Quebec Superior Court this morning, was transferred to the jail in the city’s east end on Thursday, but his lawyer says he hasn’t yet been able to review court documents with his client in person.
Two men have been charged with assaulting police officers following a brawl at Manchester Airport in July.
Mohammed Amaaz, 20, faces two charges of causing actual bodily harm, one charge of assaulting an emergency worker and one charge of common assault. Muhammed Amaad, 25, is charged with causing actual bodily harm.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said no police officers will be charged.

As the new Syria struggles to take shape, old threats are re-emerging.

“Activity by Daesh [IS] has increased significantly, and the danger of a resurgence had doubled’, according to General Mazloum Abdi, commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a mainly Kurdish militia alliance backed by the US. “They now have more capabilities and more opportunities.”

The Islamic Council, founded by the hardline preacher Haitham al-Haddad, issued a religious ruling forbidding a health trust from allowing a brain-damaged child to die. Secular campaigners said using fatwas in civil courts undermined liberal democracy.

You’ll be relieved to know that even as time is running out for the Biden-Harris regime, White House apparatchiks are still hard at work for the American people, dealing with the real problems that affect our day-to-day lives. On Thursday, the regime happily announced the launch of what it billed as “the first-ever U.S. National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia and Anti-Arab Hate.” Now that’s just super, as everyone who knows how important it is for the government to police people’s attitudes and make sure they don’t commit thoughtcrimes, but the initiative, especially coming in these last days of the regime, raises more questions than it answers.The primary question is: why are Biden-Harris wonks launching policy initiatives? Unless the left throws us a massive curve on Jan. 6 or sometime before Jan. 20, which is possible but unlikely, the Biden-Harris regime has just under five weeks left before it is consigned to the dustbin of history. Are five weeks enough to stamp out “Islamophobia,” which the left has been whining about since even before 9/11? Or does the regime intend to give deep state bureaucrats marching orders that it will follow, under the radar, during the incoming Trump administration? Or is the whole thing just grandstanding?

Ahmed Eldidi, 62, and Mostafa Eldidi, 27, were both scheduled to appear Monday in a Newmarket, Ont., court. Court heard earlier that the elder Eldidi would be re-arrested by the RCMP later in the day.
