“I came to the West because I wanted the West, not a multicultural bazaar”—UnHerd U.S. Editor Sohrab

“Europe will only be able to manage its relationship with Muslim communities more effectively if it honestly acknowledges its own Christian identity.”

Sohrab Ahmari, editor of UnHerd U.S. and one of the most influential conservative essayists in the Anglo-American debate today, spoke to europeanconservative.com during the Budapest Global Dialogue, addressing a vital question for the West: Which values can sustain its future at a time of cultural fragmentation, demographic crisis, and transatlantic tensions?

In The Triumph of the Normal, Ahmari argues that, despite decades of cultural engineering and social experimentation, there is a “deep normality” that reappears time and again: religion, family, domestic life, meaningful work, and political belonging.

WARMINGTON: Iranian-Canadian activist’s gym shot up hours after ayatollah’s demise

The overnight shooting at a boxing gym run by a well-known activist for Iranian freedom is being investigated by York Regional Police.

But since it occurred just hours after the announced death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei following military strikes by the United States and Israel on Tehran, a call to the federal government and CSIS as well would seem to be appropriate.

Woman who was jailed and threatened with stoning for wearing ‘Allah is a lesbian’ T-shirt now faces having arm amputated as health suffers in Moroccan prison

The woman who was jailed and threatened with stoning for wearing a T-shirt saying ‘Allah is a lesbian’ now faces having her arm amputated as her health continues to deteriorate in Moroccan prison.

Ibtissame ‘Betty’ Lachgar, a feminist activist, was jailed last September and sentenced to two and a half years in prison for a Facebook post in which she wore the garment, on the grounds that it was ‘offensive to Islam’.

The 50-year-old campaigner is a bone cancer survivor with a prothesis between her left shoulder and elbow, and has sustained a fractured elbow during her time so far in Salé prison, located on the outskirts of Rabat.

‘Family voting’ allegations cannot be ignored

If allegations of ‘family voting’ taking place at Thursday’s Gorton and Denton by-election prove substantiated, the incidents will not only mark a grave infraction of the law, they will give further weight to the fear that this country is becoming perilously fragmented, terminally Balkanised and mired in sectarianism.

Polling had scarcely closed when, a few minutes after 10 p.m., Sam Coates of Sky News posted on X intelligence related to him by a team from Democracy Volunteers, a group of voluntary election observers, in which they claimed to have witnessed a total of 32 cases of family voting in 15 of the 22 polling stations in the constituency. Speaking that night, John Ault, the director of Democracy Volunteers, said: ‘Today we have seen concerningly high levels of family voting in Gorton and Denton. Based on our assessment of today’s observations, we have seen the highest levels of family voting at any election in our 10-year history of observing elections in the UK.’

American Muslims Must Acknowledge the Supremacy of the Constitution Over Sharia Law

What started as a debate over dogs begs a vital question.

Florida Congressman Randy Fine got into a fight with New York Palestinian activist and Mamdami advisor Nerdeen Kiswani over dog poop in the NYC snow emergency. This culminated in Fine saying words to the effect that, given the choice between Muslims and dogs, he’d choose dogs, igniting a political firestorm that has some in Congress calling for Fine’s resignation or expulsion. This is one of those seemingly frivolous things that seem to break out in the slow news days of August and February, when weather extremes make tempers short. However, it brings to the surface once again the clash of cultures between the Muslim world and the West, and raises the specific question of how much loyalty devout Muslims can give to the U.S. Constitution when they are seeking citizenship.

France shows the peril of a Green-Muslim alliance

Gone are the days when the Green Party’s main concern was the Ozone layer. Ahead of today’s Gorton and Denton by-election, the Greens distributed leaflets and videos in Urdu urging voters to “punish Labour for Gaza”. Their keffiyeh-wearing candidate, Hannah Spencer, also says that a vote for her will “stop Islamophobia”.

It is shameless pandering to the Pakistani community, which is approximately 20 per cent of the population of Gorton and Denton. The strategy may be a shock for some but it shouldn’t be a surprise. In the 2024 local elections, a Green councillor celebrated his victory in the Gipton and Harehills ward in Leeds with a cry of “Allahu Akbar”, adding: “We will not be silenced. We will raise the voice of Gaza. We will raise the voice of Palestine.”

Violent mass school fight which left teacher in hospital and injured staff was caused by ‘community tensions’

A headteacher today blamed bubbling ‘community tensions’ for a chaotic outbreak of violence that saw pupils fighting running battles across school grounds, leaving one staff member hospitalised and others injured.

Up to 20 police cars swarmed the school gates as the mass fight broke out at 1,000-pupil Fir Vale Academy in Sheffield at midday yesterday.

Several staff members and students were injured and South Yorkshire Police said a member of staff was sent to hospital with wounds that were not life-threatening.

UK Court Backs Man Who Burned Quran

A man who burned a Quran outside the Turkish consulate in London has won his latest court battle after the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) failed in a bid to overturn his acquittal at the High Court.

Hamit Coskun had been cleared of a religiously aggravated public order offence following a prolonged legal dispute stemming from the incident, during which he set fire to the Islamic holy book in public and was subsequently attacked by a knifeman at the scene.

Ban the burqa? Good luck with that

IF MEMORY serves it would have been the General Election campaign of 2005. I was sitting in the living room of Dewsbury businessman Iftikhar Azam, discussing serious allegations about the activities of Labour’s MP-in-waiting, Shahid Malik. I recall this not out of fondness for multi-cultural nostalgia, but in the context of Reform UK’s determination to ban the Muslim face covering – the niqab.

Malik – currently on trial for a £6.3million covid fraud which he denies – would go on to be a junior Labour minister before he was disgraced in the MPs’ expenses scandal. Defeated Tory candidate Sayeeda Hussain-Warsi would instead be fast-tracked to Westminster by Michael Howard as Baroness Warsi of Dewsbury and later elevated to the first Cabinet of David Cameron.

Beginning Of The End Of UK Liberal Democracy

Normally local by-elections in Britain are nothing for non-British people to care about. But I want you readers, most of whom are not Britons, to understand what just happened in the UK. It signals nothing less than perhaps the beginning of the end of British democracy, and the germination of the seeds of civil war. This is a sign.

The Middle East: A Stack of Fake Narratives, An Attempted Fake ‘Palestinian State’ and the Real Threat to the West

General Dwight D. Eisenhower, when he liberated Europe’s concentration camps, insisted that journalists and photographers document the atrocities immediately, or, he predicted, the world would soon say they had never actually happened.

In a few years from now, the last survivors of the Holocaust will have disappeared, and the memory of what happened will fade even further.

The Holocaust was infinitely more than an attack on “dignity and human rights.” It was a unique crime: the attempt at the total extermination of an entire people by industrial means in supposedly civilized countries of the West.

UK Police Officers Worked With Muslim Assault Gang

Victims of Muslim rape gangs in the UK also accuse local police of not only helping to traffic the girls to their abusers, but raping the girls themselves.

While the overwhelming majority of police in the UK are British, based on government data, the UK police also specifically brag about “How we’re creating a diverse and inclusive police service.” Between corrupt British police and immigrants with cultures or religions that endorse rape, the issue of police complicity in rape gangs could be much worse than woke British authorities ever want us to know. After all, UK authorities want to pretend that Islam is culturally enriching, even though Islamic sacred texts explicitly approve and even encourage rape, especially of non-Muslim women.

‘High levels’ of illegal family voting in Gorton and Denton by-election

Nigel Farage has claimed a report of high levels of illegal family voting in the Gorton and Denton by-election “raises serious questions about the integrity of the democratic process in predominantly Muslim areas”.

An election observer group on Thursday night raised concerns over what it called “concerningly high levels of family voting” in the constituency.
Democracy Volunteers said they attended 22 of the 45 polling stations in the constituency, spending 30 to 45 minutes in each, and witnessed family voting in 15 of the 22 polling stations observed.
