“Islamophobia”

Britain’s flagship programme fighting radicalisation has been hijacked by political correctness, skewing it away from the threat posed by Islamic terrorism, a report claims.

The devastating analysis, published in the wake of Sir David Amess MP’s fatal stabbing, accused police and others who oversee the Prevent scheme of allowing its work to be swayed by ‘false allegations of Islamophobia’.

It claimed, as a result, anti-terror resources are being diverted away from the principal terror threat – Islamist extremism.

The latest Islamic terrorist attacks in the West — in England on Oct. 15, and Denmark two days earlier — were shocking, given that the war on terror was supposedly behind us. These attacks raise questions.

At this point, there is not just one elephant in the room, but a whole herd.

The police refused to allow a Catholic priest to purify Amess’s soul. This is the inhumanity of bureaucracy.

Everything about the murder of David Amess is grim. One detail feels particularly bleak. Amess, a devout Catholic, was denied the Last Rites. A Catholic priest and friend of Amess – Fr Jeff Woolnough – arrived at the scene in Leigh-on-Sea not long after the stabbing took place. He asked to be allowed through so that he could perform the Last Rites ritual. But the police said no. They later said it was important that they ‘preserve the integrity of [the] crime scene’. The priest, with his holy oils and his plan to administer the sign of the cross to the dying man, was clearly judged to be a threat to that integrity.

The propaganda is all so drearily predictable. The establishment media seems to have made it a foremost priority to do everything it can to absolve Islam of all responsibility for crimes done in its name and in accord with its teachings. And so it came as no surprise when Yahoo News on Sunday ran a piece by Mark Fathi Massoud, a professor of politics and legal studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz titled “Don’t blame Sharia for Islamic extremism — blame colonialism.” Of course. Really, by now we all know that everything bad in the world is the responsibility of white males. We just need Yahoo News and its colleagues to fill in the details once in a while.

The response to this suspected Islamist murder is absurd.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but nasty tweets, the alleged ‘coarsening’ of political debate, or the salty insults of one Angela Rayner are not responsible for the murder of David Amess. Actually, you know what? I do know who needs to hear this, because in the wake of the barbaric murder of this much-loved Essex MP on Friday, scores of politicians and commentators have been trotting out one or more of the above explanations and pretending that it’s meaningful analysis.

Police think the killing of David Amess may have had an Islamist motivation. We need to talk about this.

The discussion about the horrific slaying of Tory MP David Amess is set to change. Possibly radically. The police’s decision to treat his murder as a potential terrorist incident, with an Islamist motivation, is likely to shake up how the media elites in particular talk about it. Out will go any implacable political anger and the insistence that we search for the cultural and intellectual influences behind this barbaric act. In their place we’ll see demands for calm. Don’t feel too much fury, we’ll be told. Don’t extrapolate. Don’t blame it on any one faith or ideology. Don’t be Islamophobic. The liberal media will likely stop stirring up passionate feeling about this heinous crime, and instead seek to suppress such emotion.

The MSM is already hard at work shaping the narrative by providing us a heart rending account of the trauma suffered by the blood thirsty Islamist’s poor old Daddy and conflating this latest Muslim terror attack with the displays of righteous disgust for Trudeau during the election campaign.
