Man drives car into pedestrians in Italy, injuring eight

A man has driven his car into pedestrians in the northern Italian city of Modena, injuring eight people, four seriously, officials say.

They include a woman who reportedly had both her legs crushed.

After the car came to a halt against a shop window, the driver emerged holding a knife and injured a passer-by who gave chase, before the suspect was overpowered.

The suspect, 31, has been identified by officials as an Italian national of Moroccan origin. Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni described the incident as “extremely serious”.

WASHINGTON — A senior commander for Kata’ib Hizballah — the Iraqi proxy militia of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — directed a sprawling international terrorist campaign that included an attack on the United States consulate in Toronto, paid operatives across Europe and Canada to carry out bombings and arsons against Jewish and American targets, and attempted to hire what he believed was a Mexican cartel operative to set fire to synagogues in New York, Los Angeles, and Arizona, according to a federal criminal complaint unsealed Friday in the Southern District of New York.

Inside Canada’s sluggish process for deporting senior Iranian officials

On the first day of his recent deportation hearing, Abbas Omidi found himself at loggerheads with the government lawyer arguing for his removal from Canada.

At issue was not his loyalty to the repressive Iranian regime, his employer for nearly 27 years. And no one was suggesting he was involved in violent crackdowns on protesters.

The Great Green Hypocrite: Newly-elected councillor ‘Baggy’ Khan drives a gas guzzling Lamborghini, runs a second-hand car dealership AND a haulage firm. His pitch to voters? I stand with Palestine

Resplendent in his wedding finery at the wheel of a bright orange £270,000 Lamborghini Huracán Spyder, he looked, as one supporter commented on Instagram, like the ‘King of Bolton’.

At the age of just 25, sharply dressed entrepreneur Mohammad Baghdadi ‘Baggy’ Khan – who runs multiple businesses – was last week elected as Green councillor for the Bolton ward of Halliwell, where he enjoys rapturous support from many residents.

But his local acclaim quickly turned to national mockery when, just days after his victory, Khan posted the video – thought to be from 2023 – showing him driving the gas–guzzling, 5.2–litre supercar, which has a top speed of 200mph.

Vienna’s Silent Transformation: Nearly 50% of students in schools are already Muslim. Only 17% are Catholic

Perhaps no recent controversy symbolizes Vienna’s cultural unease more clearly than the city government’s decision earlier this year not to erect a statue honoring Polish King John III Sobieski. Sobieski led the Christian coalition that defeated Ottoman forces outside Vienna on September 12, 1683, in one of the decisive battles of European history.

Present tense: Many Canadian Jews have lost their sense of belonging in a country they no longer recognize

Talia Klein Leighton compares being a Canadian Jew since October 7 to a frog in a pot of boiling water.

“Every time I wake up and I realize that the water’s getting hotter, somebody greases the bowl,” Leighton, president of Canadian Women Against Antisemitism, told National Post. “The level of tolerance that this country seems to have adopted in terms of antisemitism is breathtaking.”

Not to minimize your concerns but welcome to my world.

Iran regime sympathizers sue Ford for defamation over Al-Quds Day of Toronto remarks

The organizers behind Toronto’s annual Al-Quds Day rally are suing Premier Doug Ford for defamation.

Al Quds Outreach Committee Toronto filed a lawsuit against Ford, prepared at the end of April, alleging commentary he made about the rally was motivated by “malice” and displays racism.

The lawsuit refers to comments Ford made in a video released on YouTube in March.

“This demonstration is nothing more than a breeding ground for hate and antisemitism. It glorifies violence, it celebrates terrorism. It has no place in Ontario, it has no place in Canada,” he said in the video.

LILLEY: Liberals can’t sweep voting irregularities under rug

LILLEY: Liberals can’t sweep voting irregularities under rug

The mess that was the Ontario Liberal nomination race in Scarborough Southwest can’t simply be swept under the rug. The party is facing serious allegations of wrongdoing in the vote that happened over the weekend, and those must be answered, not ignored.

Nate Erskine-Smith, who lost by 19 votes to Ahsanul Hafiz, has claimed that there were 34 more ballots counted than there were recorded voters. He also said there were “repeated and serious inconsistencies with respect to proof of identification” and said there were “problematic actions in the voting area.”

Nothing will be done, the Liberals are as corrupt as the Muslims.

Besides Mohammed Erskine-Smith is only upset because he lost.

All 11 teachers accused of creating toxic climate at Montreal school have their licences revoked

All 11 teachers accused of creating toxic climate at Montreal school have their licences revoked

All 11 teachers who were suspended in 2024 after being accused of fostering a toxic climate at a Montreal elementary school have had their licences revoked, according to the office of Quebec’s education minister.

Confirmation of the 11 licences being revoked came on the same day the Education Ministry made public a final report into the situation at Bedford elementary school.

The revocation of the licences is the latest development in a saga that reignited the debate around secularism in the province and raised concerns about religious indoctrination in Quebec schools.

Nowhere in the Gaslighting CBC article is it noted that the 11 suspended teachers were Muslims.

OTTAWA — Parti Québécois Leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon said he believes there is “religious infiltration” and “Islamist infiltration” in Quebec schools in the wake of a sprawling controversy about a Montreal school where teachers were accused of creating a climate of terror.
