Casey Babb: Canada doesn’t need an antisemitism or Islamophobia czar

On July 17, Deborah Lyons, Canada’s special envoy on preserving Holocaust remembrance and combating antisemitism, abruptly retired. Lyons, who served as Canada’s ambassador to Israel from 2016 to 2020, came into this role in October 2023 — just a week after Palestinian terrorists carried out their barbaric attacks in Israel, killing some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking over 250 hostages. While she was expected to hold the position for another few months, until October 2025, she decided “with a heavy heart,” to step down early.

With the position now vacant, the time has come to permanently dissolve the post — as well as the position of Canada’s special representative on combating Islamophobia. High paying jobs that don’t lead to results are bad. Ones that continue to divide people are even worse.

Canadian poll suggests social media ‘normalizing prejudice’

A new poll has found young Canadians are the most likely to have heard antisemitic and Islamophobic comments, and one researcher suggests social media may risk “normalizing prejudice.”

The Leger survey, which was conducted for the Association for Canadian Studies, found that over a third (39 per cent) of Canadians between 18 and 24 heard an antisemitic remark and nearly half (46 per cent) reported hearing an Islamophobic comment since Hamas’s invasion of Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.

EU Accused of Silence Over Islamist Violence Against Christians

Brussels officials are never lost for words on Gaza or the war in Ukraine. But critics say it is another matter entirely when it comes to the persecution of foreign Christians, especially by Islamists.

Dutch conservative MEP Bert-Jan Ruissen said on Monday that the European Union—as well as other international communities—is “far too silent about jihadist violence against Christians.”

Windsor Ramadan dinner and LGBT art event part of King’s diversity drive

A Ramadan meal and an LGBT+ history month lecture at Windsor Castle this year have been hailed as exemplifying the King’s “momentous” commitment to diversity.

The Royal Collection Trust – which oversees the upkeep of the royal palaces – said in its annual report, released on Tuesday, that “inclusion and diversity was a key priority this year” as it hosted a series of religious and LGBT+ celebrations.

For the first time in its 1,000-year history, Windsor Castle hosted an Open Iftar meal in its state apartments to mark the breaking of fast for Muslims during Ramadan. Last autumn, it hosted an inaugural Diwali Family Day including prayers from the head priest of the Slough Hindu Temple.

Why wasn’t Axel Rudakubana stopped?

The Southport killer was enabled by our feckless, decrepit state.

On this day last year, Axel Rudakubana took a taxi to a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport, Merseyside. Within 15 minutes of arriving, he savagely murdered three young children, attempted to murder eight more, and attacked two adults who tried to stop him. Had they not managed to escape, thanks largely to the bravery of the adults at the scene, all 26 girls would almost certainly have been murdered.

Antisemitic Migrant Attacked “Representatives of Western Society He Rejected”

German officials this week filed charges against a Syrian migrant who critically injured a Spanish tourist during a knife attack at Berlin’s Holocaust Memorial in February.

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office said in its indictment that this location was deliberately chosen because of the individual’s “radical Islamist and antisemitic views.” It adds that he sent photos of himself to members of Islamic State just before the attack, “giving the organisation the opportunity to claim responsibility.”

The Muslim Brotherhood: A Terrorist Organization That the US Must Designate as One

On July 24, Egyptian-born Michael Youssef, senior pastor of Church of The Apostles in Atlanta and author of more than 50 books, including The Third Jihadwrote that while visiting a Middle Eastern nation, he met with a highly placed Muslim official.

“He leaned toward me and said, ‘Doctor Youssef, can you tell me why the Muslim Brotherhood is outlawed as a terrorist organization in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Egypt – but is allowed to flourish in America?’ I said, ‘I can think of no answer except foolishness and ignorance.'”

HILL: Our Canada, consumed by hate, paralyzed by fear

Are you like me? Do you resist reading the morning news because there only seems to be “bad news”?

I remember a time not so long ago when Leah and I felt it our civic duty to be informed. While enjoying our morning coffee, we would spread our newspapers out on our kitchen counter and pore over the headlines, picking out what we believed to be the must-read stories of the day. We would proceed to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly.

‘We Were Commanded [by Allah] to Kill You’: The Persecution of Christians, June 2025

“The horrific killing of Kashif Masih is not just a tragedy—it is a damning indictment of the justice system in Pakistan. That a man could be tortured to death under false allegations, and that the police failed to act promptly or conduct a proper investigation, shows the systemic discrimination Christians face daily. The failure to collect crucial evidence and the reluctance to pursue justice….” — britishasianchristians.org, June 2, 2025.

Finance department rushed plan for Sharia mortgages despite warnings

Federal officials pushed to approve Islamic-compliant home loans despite repeated internal warnings that the proposal was unworkable, according to newly released Access To Information records.

Blacklock’s Reporter says emails reveal the Department of Finance wanted to move “extremely fast” on Sharia-compliant mortgages in the months leading up to the April 28 election, despite concerns from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) that the financial structure conflicted with tax laws, liability rules, and existing mortgage insurance policies.

Islamic State-backed Muslims attack a Catholic church in eastern Congo, killing at least 34

Muslims Massacre Christians in Congo

GOMA, Congo (AP) — Islamic State-backed rebels attacked a Catholic church in eastern Congo on Sunday, killing at least 34 people, according to a local civil society leader.

“The bodies of the victims are still at the scene of the tragedy, and volunteers are preparing how to bury them in a mass grave that we are preparing in a compound of the Catholic church,” Duranthabo said.

Survey: Britons Believe Islam Incompatible, Muslim Migration a Negative

Less than a quarter of Britons think Muslim migration is a net positive to the United Kingdom and a clear majority say Islam is not compatible with British values, a study finds.

Britons are sceptical on the contribution of Muslim-faith migrants to the United Kingdom compared to arrivals from other faith groups, a survey conducted by major pollster YouGov finds. Among the key findings are that 41 per cent of respondents say Muslim immigrants have a negative impact on the United Kingdom while only 24 per cent say they have an overall positive effect.

A Grim Anniversary in Canada’s Fight Against Guns – Danforth Muslim Terror Attack

Faisal Hussain – targeted women and girls

Veteran police in Canada still remember the days when officers, stunned that a colleague had taken a gun off the street, would gather to have a look at the firearm.

“It would fly through the station,” said Paul Krawczyk, an inspector with the integrated guns and gangs task force of the Toronto Police Service, Canada’s largest metropolitan police force.

Seizing firearms is now a routine, and growing, part of the job for Canadian police, especially in Toronto. This week marked the grim anniversary of a mass shooting in 2018 in a bustling east Toronto neighborhood called Danforth. Two people — a teenager, Reese Fallon, 18, and a child, Julianna Kozis, 10 — were killed and 13 others were injured.

The Danforth Attack was not a run of the mill mass shooting, it was a Muslim Terror attack covered up by authorities.
