Locals in Istanbul were recently shocked to see hordes of young Afghan men in worn out uniforms, strolling aimlessly down neighborhoods that were already home to thousands of Syrian refugees. Later, Turkish police detained and expelled nine of the men. Hundreds of others are communicating with their relatives and friends in Afghanistan and Iran and most likely updating them on the illegal migration routes into Turkey — Afghans would typically pay smugglers $1,000 for the trip from Kabul to Van in eastern Turkey. With the victory of the Taliban and the collapse of the Afghan government, hundreds of thousands may be crossing via Iran into eastern Turkey, finally seeking the least dangerous (and least costly) route into European Union soil.

President Biden stressed the purpose behind the US intervention in Afghanistan had “always been preventing a terrorist attack on American homeland” and “never supposed to be creating a unified centralised democracy”.

This clearly contradicts his previous positions on the US objective in Afghanistan.

At the outset of the conflict in 2001 when Mr Biden was a US senator, he outlined the long-term purpose of the American military intervention, saying: “Our hope is that we will see a relatively stable government in Afghanistan, one that… provides the foundation for future reconstruction of that country.”

And again, in 2003 – in another quote, tracked down by the Politico website – he said the “alternative to nation building is chaos, a chaos that churns out bloodthirsty warlords, drug traffickers and terrorists”.

You have sold out American lives and honor.

It is not so much that you are a bad president; you are more like a danger to the West. Everything you touch, you set ablaze. You remind me of me when I’m asked to help out in the kitchen. And, of course, you’re oblivious. It stands to reason that someone who can’t remember what flavor ice cream he just had should also be the only person in the world who was unaware that the Taliban would do exactly what they are doing. For the Left, it seems hard to believe that Islamists have this strange habit of doing wildly Islamist things whenever they get the chance.

President Joe Biden refused responsibility for the chaos in Afghanistan over the weekend and blamed Former President Donald Trump and the Afghan army for the Taliban’s advancement into Kabul.

“I inherited a deal that President Trump negotiated with the Taliban,” Biden claimed in his speech at the White House.

President Joe Biden is not planning to prioritize thousands of American citizens stranded in evacuations from Afghanistan, as the country falls similar to that of the Fall of Saigon in 1975, over Afghan nationals applying for visas to the United States.

Pentagon press secretary John Kirby confirmed to Fox News on Sunday evening that the administration will not give priority evacuation to Americans in Afghanistan over Afghans applying for visas.

Amid images of helicopters evacuating key United States personnel from Afghanistan’s capital city, Kabul, and news that the Taliban is moving into the city following Afghan president Ashraf Ghani swift evacuation Sunday, Biden administration Secretary of State Antony Blinken appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” and ABC’s “This Week” to defend President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from Afghanistan in such a swift and seemingly unorganized manner.

Afghanistan is a disaster of untold dimensions.  It’s a story so big that it’s actually drawing mainstream media interest, given the monumental scale of failure from our country’s sorry leadership.

Nothing beats this analysis from a CNN contributor who blasts Joe Biden to smithereens in the most damning presentation of facts so far.  That CNN would publish this is almost as newsworthy as the unfolding Afghanistan fiasco.
