WARMINGTON: Security threat against Trudeau all of Canada’s concern

It’s just not acceptable to see Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as vulnerable as he was on Monday when an angry mob of protesters descended on his vehicle.

It was a serious security incident caught on camera that once again raises concerns about the safety of Canada’s prime minister while illustrating a vitriolic mood among some Canadians.

I dunno. I mean it’s Trudeau.

Anthony Furey: The Targeting of Jamil Jivani

It wasn’t a good look, to put it mildly. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke to his caucus the other day to feed them their latest attack lines. These lines included a dog whistle against a popular young politician, Jamil Jivani, who is running to be the Conservative MP in the swing-riding of Durham.

Trudeau was going on a rant against the new additions to the Conservative family under leader Pierre Poilievre—both those who have won recent by-elections and upcoming candidates.

Justin Trudeau and the rise of the liberal strongman

At first, I assumed Justin Trudeau was just a bit tragic. When the dashing Canadian PM rose to power in 2015, the man seemed too cringe to be real. A man who confused virtue-signalling with statesmanship and Tumblr talking points with a political ideology. A man who once chided a woman at a public event for using the word ‘mankind’ (‘We like to say peoplekind’, he retorted). But as a ruling of the Canadian Federal Court this week reminds us, beneath the colourful socks, woke bromides and disconcertingly long history of blacking up resides a dangerous authoritarian.

Spotify podcaster Joe Rogan urged Canada to “get your s–t together” and replace Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after fans at a UFC fight in Toronto jeered the country’s leader with a vulgar chant.

Canadian Hillary says potential second Trump presidency ‘won’t be easy’ for Canada

Canada weathered the first Donald Trump presidency and will be ready should he win the U.S. election in November, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says.

“It wasn’t easy the first time and if there’s a second time, it won’t be easy either,” Trudeau told business leaders on Tuesday at an event organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal.

Trudeau’s tenure a passport to embarrassment

“We’re Number 31! We’re Number 31!”

Not sure what shape of foam finger one gets for a 31st-place ranking, but that’s what Canadians who want to celebrate international recognition of our passport are going to have to find.

According to the respected international recruitment and relocation consultancy Henley & Partners, Canada’s passport is only the 31st most respected passport in the world.

Rex Murphy: Justin Trudeau’s woke Christmas

Justin is so full of shit he’s about to explode.

Well, I don’t know how your Christmas is going, but mine couldn’t be better. Couldn’t be better if Santa loaned me the reindeer for a jaunt to the sunny zones — after, of course, his own blessed and joyful romps on the roofs and down the chimneys of all the world’s houses.

How could you say that, I hear the perceptive reader ask, when you are in Toronto, where the malls are a scene of menace, shoppers and their children harassed, and where some school boards (righteous cowards) forbid even the saying of “Christmas” (“winter holiday” is their desperate, bloodless substitute). Banning Christmas and all its wonderful trappings — particularly the Christmas tree — falls under the ever-dropping guillotine of inclusion.

Trudeau government’s beatdown of disabled veterans hits new legal low

Just how low can a Canadian prime minister go when dealing with the needs of military and RCMP veterans?

Certainly, I once thought it was then-prime minister Paul Martin’s decision in 2005 to eliminate disability pensions in favour of meagre lump sum payments. A policy since reversed after much public complaint.

CRESCIA: The son makes the father look good by comparison

I hate this asshole.

Pierre Trudeau was once considered the most divisive prime minister in Canada’s history. His National Energy Policy, Charter of Rights and centralization of power remain controversial to this day.

But, underneath his contrived swashbuckling image was a man of substance. He fought tooth and nail against Quebec separatism, succeeding in keeping the country together when it could have been swept away, landing in the arms of the US. He passionately believed in one Canada.
