Harris’s record is a story both of incompetence and of how little faith her own allies have in her political acumen and capabilities as an executive.

Since Joe Biden announced his intention to withdraw from American public life at the end of his term, the Trump campaign and its Republican allies have focused on their new opponent’s subpar performance handling border security. The GOP’s strategy makes sense. For all the media’s efforts to revise or even erase history, Harris was, in function if not title, the Biden administration’s “border czar.” And yet, the Republican Party’s approach to this messaging campaign has so far been to frame Harris as a fully empowered functionary who nevertheless bungled her charge. In reality, the Biden administration set Harris up to fail, as a way of providing the president cover for his own dismal mishandling of the border.

Her inner circle is tied to the corporate world

The centre of gravity in Democratic politics quaked on Sunday — and in a flash, everything changed. Barring an act of divine intervention, Kamala Harris will become the party’s standard bearer in Chicago in less than a month’s time.

Her ascent, however, signals more than just a nominal shift. In the corridors of Washington DC, it will represent a rapid transfer of power, much of it beyond view, among the operatives, donors and advisors filtering through her presidential campaign.

No one seems to have picked up on this: If Joe Biden had stuck it out to the brutal end, he probably would have lost — but might have won. Republicans, talk radio hosts, and Fox News analysts are fond of starting sentences critiquing leftists, Democrats, and the mainstream media (all the same thing) with the words “The American people are too smart to be fooled by . . .” Over and over, year after year: “The American people are too smart to be fooled by . . .”

A 2019 GovTrack score that ranked Vice President Kamala Harris as the “most liberal senator” was recently deleted.

Now that Kamala Harris is the presumptive nominee, stories that never bubbled to the surface are popping up, and there will be more to come.

Axios wrote an unflattering story on Monday, highlighting that Biden thought she was a terrible candidate who would likely lose to Donald Trump. Now, POLITICO has a similar story about how European leaders think she is a lightweight who can never become president. 

The bitter Sunday afternoon announcement that Joe Biden would end his re-election bid spurred hours of live network television coverage. With all that time to talk, it was guaranteed that the TV newsers would start worrying out loud about a new Kamala Harris presidential campaign.

CBS really demonstrated the protective liberal urges. The news wasn’t two hours old before Robert Costa warned the Republican attacks were going to be “rough and tumble like we’ve never seen it.” He received a text from Donald Trump Jr., “already attacking Vice President Harris, saying she owns the entire policy of President Biden, even more liberal, and he’s saying she’s not competent!”

The theme of my piece yesterday was that Republicans shouldn’t get too bogged down over how to run a successful campaign against a Democratic ticket led by Kamala Harris. The playbook is pretty simple: Showcase her high-level complicity in the outrageous deception about Joe Biden’s condition, highlight her shared responsibility for failed and unpopular Biden-Harris policies, and make every swing voter aware of her truly radical leftist agenda — likely in reverse order. On policy, Donald Trump is the moderate in this race; Harris is the extremist. What’s useful to her opponents is that Harris publicly and often ostentatiously embraced every far-left fantasy under the sun during her failed 2020 presidential campaign, which died in 2019 before a single vote was cast, due to lack of support. She was trying to run in the hard-left ‘lane,’ alongside the likes of socialist Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Nobody pursuing that route to the Democratic nomination wanted to be out-flanked to their left, so they ended up embracing reckless and radical ideas that are anathema to sensible, middle-of-the-road voters.

They covered for Joe from miscue to miscue, until he finally made a decision so awful that it could not be covered up. And now we have them covering up Kamala’s unsuitability for the job.

Where have we seen this before? We saw it when years before they sold us Joe Biden.

Now it is VP Kamala getting crowned and adored by the Establishment, another way of saying, the Democrat Party, which includes the media, of course.

Just so you know, I am writing this only hours before Bibi will be addressing Congress, and as before, expect him to go full throttle in defense of Israel. Bibi is usually at his best when addressing the world, and America is the world, even though, at the moment all is confusion and we do not know which side is up.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ past relationship with ex-San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown is “fair game” for media scrutiny now that the former is the overwhelming favorite to be the Democratic Party’s nominee for president, according to Megyn Kelly.

“I’m going there,” Kelly said on her SiriusXM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show” on Monday, noting that there was a “debate on Twitter … on whether Willie Brown” boosted her career during their brief romance decades ago.

Ask Republican operatives in Trump’s orbit how they plan to attack likely Democratic nominee Kamala Harris on the campaign trail, and the response goes something like this: Lay blame on her for every single one of the Biden administration’s failures, argue that she’s more liberal than the current incumbent, and accuse her of being part of the conspiracy to hide her boss’s decline from the public.
