Eleven former U.S. Border Patrol chief patrol agents wrote a letter to Congress sharing their concern for the current crisis along the southern border. The letter, addressed to congressional leadership, raises the alarm on what they refer to as a humanitarian and border security crisis.
The federal government is going to change the current law that bars migrants with disabilities and illnesses from immigrating to Canada.
The federal government plans to permanently change the so-called “medical inadmissibility rule” against prospective permanent and temporary migrants who have a health condition that “might reasonably be expected to cause excessive demand” on Canadian health or social services.
The excessive demand cost is linked to average Canadian per capita health and social services. The cost threshold against migrants is updated yearly. In 2020, it was set at $21,204.
“Expectations were created that with the Government of President Biden there would be better treatment of migrants,” Lopez Obrador said. “And this has caused Central American migrants, and also from our country, wanting to cross the border thinking that it is easier to do so.”
As RedState has been chronicling, the situation at the border has devolved into a full-blown crisis. Thousands of people are crossing illegally every day, including unaccompanied minors. Those children are being stuffed into far over-capacity facilities, unable to shower, sleeping on floors, and generally existing in terrible conditions.

Career officials from the Department of Homeland Security warned President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team that revoking President Donald Trump’s border policies would have “catastrophic consequences,” according to Stephen Miller, who served as Trump’s top adviser on immigration issues at the White House.
“Biden’s transition team was warned by career DHS officials that terminating our proven border security measures would lead to catastrophic consequences… they ignored those warnings and voluntarily unleashed chaos,” Miller wrote on Twitter on March 17.
As of 14 March, US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents were holding more than 13,000 unaccompanied children in custody, according to US media.
The US is bracing for a 20-year high in numbers of migrants arriving at the southern border, including thousands of children who are being kept in government-run detention facilities that critics say are inhumane.
A pandemic health order means that most adults and families are being summarily turned away, but the Biden administration has allowed unaccompanied children under the age of 18 to enter the US while their claims are processed.
The record-breaking influx of children being held in these camps has led US officials to send in the Federal Emergency Management Agency – a government organisation that normally deals with major emergencies like natural disasters.
More migrants are attempting to cross into the U.S. now than in the past 20 years, @DHSgov Sec. Mayorkas said while insisting that the situation is under control.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said Tuesday that the United States is on pace to experience the highest number of illegal border crossings in 20 years. He also admitted that the situation is “difficult” but again stopped short of calling it a “crisis” and insisted that the situation is under control.
But Biden will likely exacerbate the border crisis anyway because that’s what his leftist base wants.
According to the most recent Rasmussen poll, an overwhelming majority of Americans are concerned about the Biden-created border crisis. Further, a majority of Americans are against amnesty for illegal aliens.
US Border Patrol Arrests 22 Wanted Fugitives at Texas Ports of Entry
U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) over the past week arrested a total of 22 wanted fugitives at various entry points along the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas.
Among them was a person who was wanted for injury to a child charges, and another person who was wanted for assault on a family member. All of those arrested were turned over to local authorities to face charges.

Immigration policy should be designed solely to benefit citizens not the corporate sector or political parties as is the case in Canada.
Joe Biden, the open borders president, is proposing amnesty legislation to provide the 11 million plus illegal aliens in this country a pathway to citizenship. During his CNN-hosted town hall meeting on February 17, Biden confirmed that such a pathway for citizenship must be included in any immigration bill that he would consider signing. The term “alien” would no longer be used in U.S. immigration law. Until the illegal aliens successfully complete the path to U.S. citizenship under Biden’s “reform” legislation, they are to be referred to as “noncitizen,” which is defined as “any person not a citizen or national of the United States.”
Politics often involves strange-bedfellow alliances, and the bedfellows in the case of U.S. immigration policy are the strangest of all. Open-border leftists who denounce the very idea of nation-states as racist find themselves on the same side when it comes to immigration law enforcement as exploitative employers of workers in agribusiness, construction, and the hotel and hospitality industries. Old-fashioned pro-labor liberals concerned that unskilled immigration has been weaponized by employers against American workers are on the other side of the divide, along with a small but noisy group of white nationalists who lament the decline of the white majority and fantasize about Caucasian ethnostates. For their part, environmentalists used to be against mass immigration until doing so became politically incorrect; today’s Green Malthusians therefore warn against the overpopulation of the United States as a result of citizens having too many children, while saying nothing about importing tens or hundreds of millions of new residents from abroad.
Biden has made it clear that his number one mission as president is to undo everything the Trump administration accomplished over the last four years. His newest cancellation simply does not make sense.
Biden’s administration recently cancelled Operation Talon, a Trump administration program aimed at removing convicted sex offenders living in the United States illegally.
Though the program seems to be something everyone should support, it clearly isn’t. Why would anyone want sex offenders to remain in the country?
