Carson Jerema: The EV mandate isn’t being scrapped, it’s being renamed

The electric vehicle mandate that would have forced 100 per cent of all new cars sold in Canada to be zero-emission vehicles by 2035 was a typical Trudeau-era policy. It had more to do with preening self-righteousness than anything else. It sacrificed economic growth for green fantasies and was extremely paternalistic. As with most climate-change policies, the objective seemed to be more about control than actually accomplishing anything.

Government expected to announce it’s scrapping EV mandate in favour of new fuel efficiency system: source

The federal government is expected to announce its national automotive strategy on Thursday that includes scrapping Canada’s electric vehicle mandate and replacing it with a new system of fuel efficiency standards and credits, CBC News has learned.

Two sources say Ottawa is also expected to bring back popular electric vehicle incentives for consumers purchasing electric vehicles.

Money will also be announced to build more charging stations for EVs across Canada to help consumers, a source said.

Ottawa considers reviving EV incentives just in time for ChiCom Spycars arrival!

The federal government is considering bringing back consumer incentives for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids as it finalizes its national automotive strategy, CBC News has learned.

Sources with knowledge of the plans, whom CBC News has agreed not to name because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly, say that a decision on the incentives — and whether they would be similar to a suspended rebate program — has not yet been made.

Canada’s incentive program for zero-emissions vehicles, known as iZEV, was suspended more than a year ago after it ran out of money due to high demand.

Polar bears on Norwegian islands fatter and healthier despite ice loss, scientists say

Scientists expected the opposite, but polar bears in the Norwegian Arctic archipelago of Svalbard have become fatter and healthier since the early 1990s, all while sea ice has steadily declined due to climate change.

Polar bears rely on sea ice as a platform from which to hunt the seals that they rely on for blubber-rich meals. The bears’ fat reserves provide energy and insulation and allow mothers to produce rich milk for cubs.

Is Canada Really Warming?

Is Canada really warming at double the global average rate, as the Canadian government says it isA new report says no, because the data Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) uses are apparently corrupted by fundamental mistakes, mistakes so severe that when corrected, all the supposed warming of the past six or seven decades vanishes.

Given that Canada represents a large fraction of global land surface area, one naturally wonders if the world is warming at anything like we are told it is.

Ottawa’s two billion trees plan cost $488M and missed target by 89%

Ottawa spent nearly half a billion dollars on its now-cancelled Two Billion Trees Program, only to fall dramatically short of its own planting goal, according to federal records tabled in Parliament.

Blacklock’s Reporter says documents from the Department of Natural Resources show the program cost $487,891,090 before it was wound down on November 4, missing its target by 89%.

Big Brother is watching your carbon footprint

A REUTERS headline regarding the EU’s ‘Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism‘ provides a snapshot of what we should expect over the next few years in relation to sustainable development (SD) goals.

Since the early 1970s, SD has been pushed as an ideological no-brainer by the fanatical green lobby – a consensual and unquestioned ideal that we must all strive for and also suffer for if necessary (£4.5trillion estimated cost of Net Zero, anyone?)

Carney government’s net zero emission policy could cost Canadians $2.1 trillion

Fanatics will always show their true colours

The Carney government’s renewed commitment to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions (NZE) by 2050, aided by the Alberta government, in the Canada-Alberta MOU could cost about $2.1 trillion in lost economic activity from business-as-usual (BAU) between 2025 and 2050 and lead to 351,000 lost jobs from BAU by 2050. These are among key insights based on my analysis of data drawn from a 2024 custom research project by Navius Research using its highly regarded gTech/IESD model.

Policy goals, such as Canada NZE 2050, need to be backed up with rigorous modeling and impact analysis. Unfortunately, the federal government does not appear to have provided sufficient updated information on Canada NZE 2050 to allow citizens to fully assess its economic and fiscal impact. I believe that the analysis presented here helps fill that critical void.

GOLDSTEIN: Trudeau’s anti-oil, anti-gas policies still costing us billions

So, as it turns out, oil and natural gas aren’t dead fossil fuels and the previous Liberal government of Justin Trudeau, which kept insisting they were, was dead wrong.

That blunder is costing the Canadian economy up to $25.6 billion a year and who knows how much more if Canadian politicians don’t get their act together.

UN to Censor All Criticism of the Climate Agenda as Whistleblower Exposes it as a Total Scam

The UN is shutting down criticism of the ongoing climate scam: At the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), held in Brazil in November 2025, several states endorsed the UN’s “Declaration on Information Integrity on Climate Change, an initiative recognizing and trying to combat the rise in climate disinformation in media and politics.”

The UN declaration is professedly a pledge to “fight false information” about climate change.

Berlin’s blackout was a grim taste of our Net Zero future

Berlin’s horrendous four-day blackout, which plunged over 45,000 households in the city’s south-west into darkness, is finally over. Beginning last Saturday and lasting for four nights, the blackouts left homes, shops and care facilities without light, heating and communications access – just as a particularly nasty cold spell sent temperatures plummeting to minus-10 degrees Celsius. The far-left ‘Volcano Group’ (Vulkangruppe) has claimed responsibility for the blackout, which it reportedly achieved by setting fire to electricity cables connected to Berlin’s largest gas power plant.

Dramatic Fall in Global Temperatures Ignored by Narrative-Captured Mainstream Media

Global temperature anomalies on both land and sea are dropping like a stone. Net Zero-obsessed mainstream media, science and politics do not do cooling. Confirmation bias that holds humans responsible for hockey-stick style global warming with all its risible ‘settled’ notions has gravely damaged genuine climate science. But the world is cooling rapidly and the silence from the mainstream is both laughable and disgraceful.

Africa’s Pipeline Rejects Climate Dogma and Foreign Control

As Western elites preach net zero, Africa’s Dangote is building power the hard way—fueling growth, jobs, and independence with energy that actually works.

Political powers in the United Nations and European Union have spent decades lecturing Africa on climate “virtue.” Net-zero pledges, renewable targets, ESG frameworks, and more make up the ever-growing list of prescriptions for “healing the planet.”

Having already industrialized through the use of fossil fuels and enjoying full bellies, stable power grids, and unprecedented luxury, the so-called elite of the developed world present a “low-carbon” economy as morally superior. African nations are pressured to use “sustainable” energy sources—mostly wind and solar technologies—to effectively prevent the development of the Dark Continent’s rich deposits of coal, oil, and natural gas and engender dependence on foreign governments.

Sensational New Findings: Higher Warming Trend at Start of 20th Century Casts Serious Doubt on Role of Human-Caused CO2

Recently published remarkable research analysing over 42 million global temperature recordings from nearly 1,000 stations has cast serious doubt on the claimed link between carbon dioxide emissions and rising temperatures. The huge statistical work collected data from before 1900 to 2024 and found an overall annual warming trend of 0.0054°C after adjusting for growing unnatural urban heat effects. What is truly revealing about this important analysis is that it shows an obvious disconnect between the rise in anthropogenic CO2 and the sharpest warming occurring in the early 20th century, when industrialisation was confined to relatively few countries.

The climate climbdown is finally upon us

2025 marked the 10-year anniversary of the Paris Agreement on climate change, when 195 nations pledged to cut carbon emissions to slow the rise in global temperatures. Yet 10 years on, the political consensus on climate change has all but collapsed. Last year, the seemingly cast-iron conviction that climate change poses an existential threat to humanity – and that we urgently need to eradicate fossil fuels and carbon-intensive industries – came under challenge like never before.
